Great hire. He's a phenomenal recruiter. Good luck keeping him beyond this season. He's going to get looks/calls from some good jobs.

MSU stackeeddddd....

Rivals Top Recruiters of the Decade

quote:

3. TIM BREWSTER, TEXAS As the story goes, Texas had not planned to recruit Vince Young all that hard but Brewster took it upon himself to go after the Houston (Texas) Madison quarterback. The Longhorns won out for Young's services over Miami and others after being way behind early in the recruiting process. Brewster, who had a rough time as Minnesota's head coach, was considered Texas' ace recruiter and his work - especially with Young - helped the Longhorns earn the top class in the 2002 Rivals.com rankings.

Ok this guy may very well be a solid recruiter and I'm not trying to be contrary for the sake of being contrary, however, trying to say that UT "wasnt recruiting VY that hard" has to be a joke. He was the top recruit in the country AND from Houston. Just my opinion.

Either way, great hire and a major upgrade by State. Always good to have an asst coach on staff who has HC experience. Carries a little more clout with players.

Just what it sounds like. In any Mullen interview he never closes the door for anything. It's not a big deal really.

Exactly what it says. Maybe Mirando will try to come back next year if there is an opening. Maybe he won't. Either way, a huge upgrade is currently on his way to Starkville.
