Thread title says it all.
Also, Rogers looked great as a freshman, but seems his stats have gotten worse each season. Any idea why?

Leach died. I think that probably has the most to do with it.

Changed the offense
Neutered their best player in Rogers
Now he has a mysterious injury which means he probably opted out to preserve whatever draft stock he has left

That much is obvious. Doesn’t explain why the offense is where it is currently.

Leach isn’t here. Rogers was never that great either. He was very inconsistent, would have good games against bad teams and played awful against average to above average defenses. Zero mobility and always seemed hesitant when throwing past his first read which leads to a lot of sacks.

The backup (Mike Wright) was awful. We played our true freshman 4 star guy at the end against Kentucky and he shows promise but could clearly tell he’s a freshman

We are likely moving on from arnett and this staff following the egg bowl. Hopefully we make a good hire and have a rebuild next year and get back on track.

Thanks for the run down. I was at the State Kentucky game, and was spirited how bad the offense is at moving the ball.

Yea I was there too. It was embarrassing considering we hadn’t lost to Kentucky at home since 2010 I believe. You could tell Kentucky knew we weren’t scoring so they seemed to go conservative.

Hopefully you didn’t see all the thuggery going on in the junction during and after the game. That was embarrassing as well.

I did not. Left at the half to head to my folks and watch the LSU game.

State fans don't like it when they hear the truth but I will tell it.

Will Rogers is a D2/D3 quarterback who has been well coached all his life (his dad is an Air Raid HS coach that developed Minshew).

Because he so well coached, he always appeared better than he was.

Mike Leach is a 1 in a million coach that can use the Air Raid to exploit a defense's weakness better than anyone.

The combo of Leach and Rogers worked - but Rogers was far from the best QB Leach ever had. When Leach died and the Air Raid left MSU, what was left was a D2/D3 talented quarterback.

Good kid. Should enter the coaching ranks, but not an SEC quarterback for anyone other than Leach.

State fans talk about Leach like he was Steve Spurrier. And like he would have won 10 games with their no talent roster.

Leach had a bare cupboard in 2020 he had to build from scratch

If you know anything about Leachs past he always had a great team of 10+ wins 4-6 years into his tenure. Never in years 1-2

Bo Bounds (Jackson Sports Talk/MSU grad) is touting three replacements. The idiots calling in and tweeting at him about him are ridiculous.

Elko
Leopold
Malzahn

He thinks Malzahn is the best fit and most likely to come to Starkville. By the average fan's response, you'd think he was advocating for the return of Croom.

Malzahn would be great for MSU.

Would be a slam dunk, home run hire I believe.

All you showed was that State was improving each year and likely would have improved again the year after that.

Keep your leftist drivel to yourself.

Hire any of these three right now. State could increase their salaries significantly, but I suspect that would result in their current schools renegotiating the contracts rather than a poaching situation. State needs to be ready to pay the buyouts of its current staff, the buyouts of the new coaching staff, and then about 7-8 for a new head coach.
