Will they be able to find 100,000 people in Mississippi who can sign their name?

...Now if you'll just make your X here, we can make you the third person to sign this petition.

Not nearly as good as the Norantable thread. It was amusing when she said he slept with her brother though.

I'm glad to see this is at the forefront of our state government's concern.
Hoseman is a pretty straight up guy. I am sure he is doing what the law says do. I really doubt that this says anything about whether he thinks it has a dog's chance of happening or not.

I agree that Hoseman will do what is required, but I resent the waste of taxpayer money, including mine, on something that is of no concern to the public other other than some disgruntled Ole Miss alums. If this referendum makes the ballot, the proponents may be in for a rude surprise when the majority of voters, who are non-Ole Miss people, vote against. They need to handle this in-house and leave the state out of it.

As a Bama fan I have no dog in the fight. Although, I do think it is pretty fun to laugh at your terrible new mascot.

The media is going to have a field day with this. Mississippi voting to bring back a mascot that looks like a plantation owner is not good press. I never had a problem with it, but this will make it a bigger deal than it ever was. I think Ole Miss fans and the state in general should move on and focus on something of real importance.

I agree. This is going to be an unwanted distraction.

I'll sign it. I would do the same for MSU if some crazy extremist PETA group wanted to get rid of their bulldog. The Rebel doesn't hurt anybody, and it's tradition. I was telling someone the other day that my hatred for the Johnny Rebs has been non existent lately. I attribute that to the Rebel not being attached to their school anymore. The Bears? I don't know what I can say.

I'll sign that petition. Twice. Just let me know what I can do to help.

PS: Benny Thompson is a crumb snatching hack!
