The MHSAA Executive Committee has called an unscheduled meeting today to discuss moving contact sports like football and basketball to the spring and playing non-contact sports like baseball and softball in the fall.

My son’s Jr High coach and AD for the school is missing this mornings practice to go to this meeting. This is going to suck. My son needs this year badly.

I mean baseball is playing now at all levels
Travel ball in full swing
Some of the northern states are having normal high school seasons as theirs run through the summer with later start
I still think college baseball pulled the plug too soon as summer seasons are being played

Softball is already a fall sport here. Basketball is a winter sport.
I get the idea, but think there might be some conflicts with dual or 3 sport athletes.

Nothing like getting jammed with a fastball when it's 34 degrees outside.

Nothing was settled today ... looked at delaying football as well . Will meet again on July 14th . Looks like FB won’t start on time regardless

So early graduation would mean kids would lose their senior year if they want to make spring ball with their university. This would be good for RB’s.

I’m assuming some early enrollees would just not play their senior year?

How...if somebody gets sick, it's going to matter on the sport?
