Poor Ole Miss. They can finally brag about having something being best in the SEC and then MSU will out do them 2 months later.

Why don't you buy us one?
I did. It's called mandatory TAF dues. Funny how these only go up after a national title. I refused this year to pay them.......Partly by choice, partly by income level, but mostly by pride. 3 generations of tickets gone to some suit who will probably sell the tickets on ebay for triple the price to an opposing fan. I wouldn't mind paying them if we got something in return (and I don't mean a winning program since we got that without the fees). You lay enough money on the line.......and greed always wins out.

I have my limits, and I have my pride. Sorry, just because I am a HUGE LSU fan, doesn't mean I like being treated like an idiot.

pull your head out of your arse and look at what the top college coaches are being paid around the country in 2008. Without TAF/Tradition fund LSU could afford the Hallman/Dinardo type of coaches instead of the Saban/Miles ones, and you remember how well that worked out right?
There was a time when $35 dollar tickets for all 75,000 seats and no donations was sufficient to run a good football program. That time has passed.

Fear Not Tiger fans! I've talked with the local rep for Daktronics. We were meeting on a project for my firm, and i mentioned that they were doing the Ole Miss board. He said and i quote "Yea it's ok, but you should see what LSU is planning." I said oh really? He said "Yes you'll be hearing about it once financing is taken care of, I cant discuss it in details because it hasn't been finalized."
Awesome!

I'm not worried about it. It would be nice but I'm happy seeing the unique press LSU gets prior to most games when they show Mike the Tiger and his unique facilities right next to the stadium. Texas has a beautiful HD videoboard and a cow. Ole Miss will have um.....a beautiful HD videoboard.
LSU has the golden girls, Mike, the passionate fans, tailgating, the list goes on.
I'm sure our HD Videoboard will come in due time. In the meantime I'm just happy that LSU has become a national power and it looks like we'll continue that success for a few years minimally.

I'm telling you..........they are crowd killers, not enhancers.
Before Texas, Arkansas had the largest. Then it was just a big race to see who can get a bigger one. Ted Turner has since trumped them all with the screen at his ball park in Atlanta.
I've talked to Texas fans and I obviously am familiar with my own stadium. The cons far far far outweigh the pros.
LSU scores a touchdown and they decide to go for two and the win. Miles calls a timeout. The crowd is going ape shite......and then.......in 120x40 HD Glory.........."Hi everybody! I'm Stanley, of Stanley Steamer! Have you thought about having your rugs shampooed lately?"
Just don't get one.

People don't realize what having a big video board brings with it and big advertisements is the main problem. What good is a board the size of Texas (or even MSU and OM and Arkansas) if 60% is going to be covered by advertising and stats (which are supposed to be on the ribbon boards).
I know they already play commercials on the current boards but at least they aren't big enough that you just can't ignore them. Imagine having a Louisiana Lottery commercial blaring from a huge video board that could give you sunburn if you are too close. And I can guarantee all the people in the North endzone will complain when they have to turn around to see the new HD board over their heads.

Arkansas does not litter its board with ads but they damn sure run the board as if it is a network TV station.
When there is not action on the field, there are commercials blaring through the sound system and on the board. Literally. They never stop. It doesn't matter if it is the first snap or 3rd overtime.
Wal-Mart, Tyson, Fuji Film, Arkansas State Troopers, So and So's Sausage, This or That trailer hitch company.......
After having our ridiculously large board for 5 or 6 years most of us are ready to kiss it goodbye. And after speaking to Texas fans, they are becoming of the like mind.

Now they can watch their asses getting handed to them in pure unadulterated HD glory.

Hey, it's good to really highlight Alabama's losses to them the last two years.

I would start a petition and get people to boycott Stanley Steamer.

Didn't we have all of that prior to having to pay thousands of dollars for season tickets?

I think the new upgrade this year is the sound system. Someone on here posted an email from a reliable source answering some of the questions about TS future upgrades. #1 was the sound system and I couldn't agree more. Sitting in the North Endzone is like listing to the game being called by Charlie Brown's teacher.
I wouldn't be against 2 smaller HD boards being put in. The Ole Miss, Miss State, Texas, etc. sized boards would probably violate commercial airspace if it was placed on top of one of the endzones of TS.

Yep and we also had thousands of people paying below market value for their tickets for generations because they were passed down through their families. TAF couldn't get hold of those tickets to add their fees, so LSU did the next best thing and added to Tradition Fund for most seats in the stadium (minus student and peripheral WUD seats). How fair was it that someone on the 50 yard line was paying the same as someone in the endzones? I believe the sideline seats are still under priced (even with the increasing tradition fund over the next several years).

looks like it'll be bigger than the whole stadium
