I would be starting threads like this too if my team was getting blown out at home against Wright State.

If you looked at Palmeiro, it was obvious that he was not a long term steroid user. His body never swelled up or bulked up.

Yes he failed one test. He also passed numerous other ones over many years. I think he has suffered enough for that happening. I think he was telling the truth that he did not knowingly take steroids. Because why would he at the end of his career do such a thing. I just don’t believe that he would knowingly do something that could and in fact did destroy his career. He did make a mistake by waving his finger at Congress. It almost makes you think somebody set him up later because of that.

You don’t get to 3,000 hits and 500 HR’s because of steroids. He was a great player that has been vilified over the last 14 years.

But this Honor has nothing to do with his MLB career. He was a great college player.
He has been a great ambassador for State despite the steroid issue.

Doesn't matter. He used them.

Responding to a specific post.. yeah, Palmeiro was clean in college/all good.

I'm actually fine with the roid guys in general from the aspect of "they were all on it". Wish it never happened but very few stars weren't taking part, ironically Will Clark being a huge exception.

Oh well, it was the era they lived in. He still gives back to State and is an SEC/College legend.

Nope. He roided. I'm a fan, have one of his game used bats.

He wasn't using the same supplier as the rest of the locker room (Dr. Canseco), but he starting using when he came to Texas & saw what his teammates were accomplishing. Canseco & the rest were max users.. Palmeiro was using at a similar plan as most pitchers were on. Sadly the max users were getting more power with their plans, but their levels shortened careers & lord knows how it effected their later lives. The good news is the max levels exploited the abuse. Roids were in the game since the 60's, but flew under the radar for the most part as they weren't going all guerilla with it.

Juice was more prevalent in the 90's than "greenies" were in the 60's-80's. I'm talking A ball up to MLB.

Yup. No reason for anyone to judge him & he's a great supporter of MSU. Heck, Texas has our own version in the Rocket.
