You can keep it vanilla when you're blowing someone out but once the game got to within 1 score again, any semblance of "holding stuff back" goes out the window. Not sure if Rogers lacks confidence in himself or if the staff lacks confidence in him but something is weird there. Arnett's post game quotes were weird too. I'm guessing he was covering up for Barbee and didn't actually tell them to run the ball to help rest the defense but if he did, whew boy.

Last year there were a crazy amount of LSU games that were two touchdowns or more from covering in either direction.

The Arnett quote you’re referring to was about one specific situation, not the whole gameplan. Some State fans have taken it out of context. He was referencing the fact that Arizona just had a 10 minute drive ending in a fumble and he wanted to take about 5 minutes off the clock and score right before half where they couldn’t answer. In that context it actually makes sense, though he said today he wishes he would’ve been more aggressive.

Pass rush will give Rogers trouble, he runs backwards and falls on his back like a turtle at the slightest hint of pressure.
states D has no pass rush and is slow on the edges. Daniels will have all day and won’t be contained on the edge.
I think LSU stacks the box and blitzes Rogers. states offensive line looks much worse than last year.
