Missed tackles everywhere, our defensive line is getting no penetration, our secondary can't stop the short pass (or anything, for that matter). Dyer is amazing but Malzahn won't give him the ball, he calls too many sweeps or screens that get stopped behind or at the line of scrimmage because our blocking isn't what it was last year, our offensive line is spotty at best, Trotter's been really inconsistent since the meltdown in the 1st quarter of the Clemson game, and his best Cam Newton impression isn't enough to bail us out when a play fails.
oh. wow.

We might as well be 0-4. Maybe 1-3, the Mississippi State game wasn't TOO bad.

We could easily be 2-2 right now, FWIW

honestly i left oxford thinking this. other than Bama and LSU there are no elite teams after UF the rest of us all fricking suck
AU is rebuilding and has coaching issues
MSU has all kinds of problems
Arky has injuries and some serious issues
OM and UK are in a whole other world of hurt
UT isn't quite back yet and losing hunter hurts
USCe looks awful to be 4-0 but wins are wins
UGA does less with more than any other team in this country and Mark Richt looks like he doesn't even care anymore
only team that seems to have improved from last year was Vandy

Shhh.... Don't let the media know that.
But yeah, this definitely isn't last year's SEC. Hopefully some of it can get sorted out in time to initiate A&M. It'd look pretty bad if they come in and have a winning season their first year

So let me see if I understand what you are saying...
LSU and Bama only do well when the SEC is down?
I agree.

Awful? I wouldn't say any of our wins have been pretty, but awful? Come on. Our D line is the best in the country, Lattimore is the best RB in the conference, and our secondary is getting better and better each game. When the game is on the line, we step it up.
I would say we need to improve in a lot of categories to beat Bama/LSU, but we are FAR from awful.

Both our fan bases will. This game went from revenge game to each fan base consoling each other

Its hard to say. Trotter is #4 in QB rating in the conf and throws a pretty ball...but he cant run and that is needed in our read-option offense
only Cam can run that read option. any smaller and slower QB will get punished.

So it's gone from "Cam can't run it" to "Only Cam can run it"? And how Malzahn's offense won't fly in the SEC?
At least wait and see how Frazier does before throwing him out the window. He's looked good so far (given, he's hardly played. But still...).

Frazier is neither smaller nor slower than Cam, so he's actually right. Right?

Well so far the only birght side is that we've shown to everyone how terrible MSU is...that and the bammers are up in arms that we're not screaming for chiz head.
But when it comes down to all things auburn, we're all less than impressed and see the glaring deficiencies in this team.

Oh the cam can/cant do this stuff.
I remember when a juco qb could never come into the sec and have any success. Or how a guy who runs that system will never make it a game in the pros.

I honestly did not expect us to be world beaters by any stretch of the imagination. My biggest concern is that we don't seem to be getting any better. A little forward progress would go a long way in making me feel better.

This was probably my favorite.

Agreed...growing pains were a given, but like you said, no noticable improvement is scary

That's our problem. We've regressed. Significantly. And Roof's over here saying that the defense is getting better.

THE
HECK?

Don't you know? Cam Newton = Brent Shaeffer 2.0
He will never run on any SEC defense, ever... And he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with his passing ability, or lack thereof.
