I am just glad beating Bama has once again become the bench mark for determining LSu's season. It is a huge compliment t the Alabama program

well when your program puts up statues of coaches that are STILL frickIN' COACHING THERE......obviously a game against that team would be our Super Bowl

Nice job taking my quote out of context....Obviously you didn't read the person I was responding to.

I think it's more of a reflection of how great the football and athletes in the state of Louisiana are than how good a coach Les Miles is.
So how do you explain this year when LSU has half the players on the All-Sec Team that Arkansas does but they are still ranked higher in every pre-season poll(top 5) by media and coaches alike?
We know that can't possibly be media and coaches figuring Miles will be Coaching them boys up cause everybody know Miles doesn't coach, he just draws plays in the sand with a stick.
You can't have it both ways, so which one is it?

Actually, it was more of a case of we were happy to beat a team labeled "A dynasty in the making" but I'll be the first to admit after Auburn beat them too it didn't feel nearly as special.

A bit of a side not here.
If I remember correctly in the recruiting season leading up to Saban's first year in '07 Miles was seriously pissed off at some of Saban's recruiting tactics with reference the recruits that both LSU and Bama were vying for.
Saban told them something along the lines that the LSU staff was "a joke" compared to the staff he was going to have at Bama.
This was a large reason for the Recruiting Day Bash, "we've got a new rival in f**ing Alabama" when LSU finished ahead of them that year.

Miles shouldn't have done it. Still,it was prompted by the low-class tactics Saban used recruiting in Louisiana in early 2007.

I am a die hard LSU fan. I LOVED Cholly Mac and Arnsbarger and Miles even. My only point was that over the last 3 years we won 58% of our SEC games and 53% of our SEC West games. Can't argue those facts.
When I said medocrity, that is what I was referring to.
My hope is we kck arse this year.
As far as this, who is us? You probably do ont even pay taxes yet.
so
off.

Here is what matters most
The last 3 years we won 58% of our SEC games adn 53% of our SEC West Games.
Ironically the BEST year he had in the SEC was 2005-06 Season , his very first. Without the meltdown against Tenn, he goes undefeated, until the SECCG, which LSU was waxed by UGA.

I don't know if you recall, but LSU was having a QB shite festival going on.

I'm sure a certain player we forced out didn't set us back 2 years.

Nobody ever wants to mention that we lost a projected all SEC Qb, and we had to throw two young uns in before they were ready. It takes time to recover from situations like that. And I blame the offense the last couple of years on the "Crowton Effect". He always put up big numbers his first couple of years and tapered off drastically after that. He never developed his QBs either. Look at the year Dennis Dixon had under crowton, then go look at his following year without him.
Also, LSU has trended up in the win column each of its last three years, so I wouldn't exactly call that trending towards mediocrity

What matters most is that in his 6 years coaching at LSU he has (4) 11 win seasons and one of those was last year.

No, great coaches don't let one position dictate how a team does. Just see LSU in 2002 when Mauck goes down we were still bad arse. Or 2004 when Randle and Russell = Mauck. End sarcasm.

Oh and Miles is just mean for making RP leave the fans would have fully supported him keeping him. He would have never heard a criticism out of the fan base. Okay now end sarcasm.

Miles is a very good coach. I don't know why he takes all the shite he does. I'd love to have him at UCLA
