But what are your gut feelings on how the university may choose to handle the issue, long term? Do they seem to vehemently support the idea of a live mascot?

LSU took the Tiger who came from facility that was cited for health and safety violations by Flordia officials where he had to be transported to a sanctuary to await purchase or death.

LSU provides a $3mm home, he's treated like a king for the remainder of his life. I'd say living in his current pad is a better alternative than living in squalor and awaiting your eventual death.

People just can't mind their own business. This mike came from a sanctuary that could no longer take care of him. He wouldn't survive in the wild. He has better care and a better life then some people, and it's a hell of a lot better than tigers in a zoo.

This happens nearly every year. We've already told them to frick off several times.

F. King Alexander probably wants to cave in to them. But, he’s smart enough to know that would blow over like a shite brick balloon.

These PETA loons do this every year. And every year they get told to eat a dick. They have no idea what LSU does for Mike or tigers in general. They are endangered. They need our help.

If LSU sucked like Memphis State, they could have a live tiger as a mascot and nobody would give a shite.

By the way, Memphis has a nice setup for their tiger too. That dude lives better than most of us. I'm sure Mike does as well.

If we were to lose our live mascot in the Joe Alleva era, he better never set foot in the state lines again

It wouldn't be Allevas call...it would be Kings. And he already told them at least once to STTDB.

What do they want LSU to do with Mike? Wasn't he raised in captivity and rescued to LSU? They can't send him back to the wild, he wouldn't survive.

You’re trying to have a logical argument will illogical people. Doesn’t mesh.

Total BS.. PETA... They need to worry about the Tigers that are treated poorly.

They hate that AU has an Eagle, but we only keep Eagles that cannot be returned to the wild due to injuries. (NOTE: We have multiple Eagles, Spirit is a Bald Eagle).

Tom III at the University of Memphis is the only other live tiger mascot. The University of North Alabama in Florence has two lions and Ralphie the Buffalo leads the University of Colorado team on the field after an AC/DC song. Baylor University has bears in an on-campus zoo exhibit in Waco, Texas. And there’s the golden eagle at Auburn.

Of course, Southern Miss used to have a golden eagle, but that didn't end well.

This has been proven time and time again. These tigers both live longer and BETTER than "free roaming" tigers.

Highly doubt they live "better" but this Tiger is certainly treated well.

Controlled climate, medical care, healthier nutrition...

Yeah, I'm sure "better" is the appropriate word.

Would you rather live in a cage or be free to roam where you wanted???

Its a stupid assessment.

But yes, I understand this Tiger is very well taken care of and probably couldnt survive in the wild.

Its all good, but being free is ALWAYS "better"

They don't live in cages. At least the Memphis Tiger doesn't. I'm assuming LSU is the same. They have multimillion dollar natural habitats that have been build for them to roam around in.

With walls that they cant go past....cages.

Again though, Im not saying the Tiger is mistreated but to say he is living better is completely disengenous.

I hate this shite. Mike has it made. This isn't how he is supposed to live, but it's much better than being turned loose so a guy in Asia can kill him and cut his dick off and make tea out of it. I wish Auburn and Missouri would get Tigers and start a breeding program. LSU does a great job caring for Mike.

Ask Judith how well the "Tigers" are doing in Australia. They killed all of the Tasmanian Tigers. The self righteous hag should choke on vegemite
