I like Leach a lot but I didn’t think he would be a good fit at TN at the time and I still don’t. Flame away but I am 100% happy with the direction we are heading under Pruitt so far. If you bring up GA state As a cheap dig against him, then you are Ignoring the light years of progress we have made since then.

Offensive guru who in his first game as your coach got over 600 yards passing against the defending champs with no spring practices. I guess it was an ok hire.
All you other SEC teams should say thank you to LSU for providing quality tape of what a Leach offense will do to you if you are not prepared for it mentally and physically. This is no excuse like "we beat ourselves." In fact MSU exposed LSU weaknesses that many on here talked about all preseason in the massive loss of talent and experience. They whooped our defense's arse but with that now you know what you have to prepare for. LSU sure didnt...

I am pretty intrigued to see what he can do in the SEC. I had those thoughts ever since he got booted from Tech. And of course he'd torch my team in his first game in the league when it finally happens, thats how these things seem to work and I immediately was like "I should be more careful with what I wish for
Great hire for MSU, I'll be keeping an eye on yall

But is his offense THAT unorthodox in the year 2020? Plus a lot of folks ... including some folks here, and I can see the powers that be at some of the more tradition-centric sites feeling that way too ... view him as a flake who's probably running around chasing butterflies with a pirate's sword at practice while his players do whatever strikes their fancy.
Yes he's flaky, that's part of his charm, but do some research. This guy is as hard-nosed a disciplinarian and works his team as hard in practice as any old-school "them kids don't need no water" coach of 50 years ago. Yes he got scorched because of the deal with Craig James' son ... and I think Leach was totally in the right there ... but given the SEC's reputation for such toughness I challenge anyone to say that he isn't a fit in this league.

Following up, I've been a big Leach fan from afar since reading his book. Again, he certainly is flaky, but when you get below that he's got his head on quite straight in a lot of other ways.
This had little to do with football, but in his book he said there were two unpardonable sins that would get you kicked off his football team, no second chances, no appeals.
The first was stealing, because he said a thief cannot be trusted and he would have no one who couldn't be trusted on his team.
The second was hitting a woman, because he said anyone who hit a woman wasn't a man in his eyes.
That kind of stuck with me.

Mike Leach is a proven winner and it became most obvious to me when he coached at Kentucky.
I've been following his teams ever since. And I applaud Mississippi State for giving him a chance to coach once again in the SEC. I never doubted his ability to win, wherever he happened to be coaching.
My first reaction when he was hired at MSU was, "oh shite, the SEC West just got a lot tougher".

I’m completely and honestly jealous.
