The world just got a little bit crappier.
Praying for a miracle here.

Man this is really depressing. He has had a huge impact on college football in so many ways.
Life is too short. Hopefully his family finds some relief soon.

What a legend. He absolutely owned us at two separate schools over the course of 20 or so years and I still couldn’t help but love the guy. Contributed so much to what modern football looks like but was also one of a kind as a person. If you haven’t read his book with Bruce Feldman now is a great time to

Ever since I heard this news I have been praying for Coach Leach and family. He is a treasure! I have always loved his interviews and somewhat think of him as just one of us everyday guys that love football and have our opinion on everything including weddings and fat little girlfriends! Prayers continuing!

Y’all asking jjdoc and there’s a damn Jackson ms ems in the thread telling people what’s going on
Spot on.
Without commenting on any particular poster or event, hospital staffs - particularly ERs - and EMS staffs are often comprised of people that have known each other for years, socialize after work, date and marry each other, and often simultaneously work both sides of the door (full time EMS part time hospital or the other way around). EMS crews are in and out all day long. They talk. They hear things. It’s even more pronounced the smaller the community because population of providers is so much smaller.
People need to take that into account when weighing credibility.

No, it is bizarre when people want to know what is going on, are told what happened and then don't like hearing it.

It’s accurate, but he’s trying to be first on what he assumes is going to happen. It will, but he’s jumping the gun.

Not much to say really except college football will be missing someone who actually made this game enjoyable.

Yes it does. Look no further than the Clarion Ledger posting an article with every detail of the situation while also quoting the university’s statement where the family asked for privacy. And then talks about the Texas Tech situation at the end. People are despicable sometimes.

Doenst matter what he's hearing. He's going to die if what is being reported is true (15 mins before treatment with defibrillator; Seizures (indicating brain damage);
Not 100% given. I've seen as bad or worse recover. Not to where he could coach again and it'd be a battle to get back to a decent quality of life. I thinks it's reasonable to give a few days if brainstem function is still intact. I have several pt's that were declared "brain dead" by neurology due to lack of organized brain activity on EEG. Lucky for them, I refused to sign off without giving them a fighting chance. One sat up and requested coffee two days later. I had the administrator that tried to temporarily suspend my privileges to take her off the vent serve it to her.
We don't know all the details and a lot of assumptions have been made. He'll most likely pass but if anyone can pull this off and come out on the other side with one helluva story to tell, it's the Pirate Coach Mike Leach.
Keep swinging your sword coach! You've fought the Reaper this long. He thinks he has it in the bag and has dropped into his prevent D and we all know what that means!!

I hope Ms State incorporates the Pirate mascot into tradition as they did with the cow bell after the cow walked onto the field. Keep his memory alive. Very sad knowing his outlook. My dad made it through surgery this morning and is recovering well. Thank all of yall that reached out and offered prayers and encouraging words it meant a lot last night.

Great news about your dad

This sucks on so many levels, what a legend and a gem. I was looking forward to the day he was in a booth calling a game or an analyst on a college football show, so sad and tragic.

This is a very sad situation. Natural though death may be, it doesn’t make it easier on this left behind. Seems very grim at this point.
