Trey Wallace had no bad intent

the drama queens of the world don't want to hear about intent. If you present a solution to the drama queens of the world, they are angry, because solutions strangle their fricking drama

I meant in this specific incident since peoples character are being called into question for saying he’s passed.

This whole ordeal sounds a lot like what happened to Tom Petty.

A reported medical event at Tom’s house. He’s alive, he’s not alive, he’s alive but has no brain function. Then the inevitable.

I hope for Leach and his family, none of the speculations are true.

I did my part to explain lane never tweeted anything. It’s hard to police a thread for accuracy when it’s 50 pages long

Steve likes the attention put directly on him. Nothing new for that guy. It is for the family to release information. I just went through this a week ago with my Dad dying. There are people who want to be the center of attention and information when it has little to do with them. Word got out while I was trying to let my brother know. Spreading info before the family can hurt people.

God bless you Rebbedup

I'm so sorry you lost your Dad. I know your story exactly because I lost my Dad in the past decade and dealt with idiots as well.

As far as Coach's condition goes, I am told he is stable. That is not to say he's doing well. He's not. The family will have to make some difficult decisions in the days ahead and that could actually come to a head on Monday. I simply don't know their feelings. My heart breaks for all involved. I do know that they need all of us. We must come together as a family in this difficult time. As concerned as we are about football, their entire lives are changing. We must be sensitive to that and support them all we can.

Yeah it's sad. My mom and her bf came over for Thanksgiving holidays and this is what happened to him. I found him in my kitchen and gave him cpr. The medics brought him back, but he had been without oxygen too long. It also happened to my dad. He went into cardiac arrest on the way to the hospital, but luckily I was a minute out and thankfully they were able to save him. Scariest car ride of my life. I was running red lights like crazy. Luckily I didn't get killed myself.

Fair question. And some in the trade (it’s not a profession, that’s pretentious) would crucify me if I did that because they are so devoted to complete accuracy … with good reason … that they will put the most convoluted and ungrammatical and downright nonsensical quotes in stories “because that’s what they said.”

I’ll say again, the fact that he was speaking in past tense about Leach would’ve immediately set off an alarm and to keep from causing trouble as much for me as for him, I simply would’ve said, “Coach, you’re speaking in past tense, is that really what you want to do?”

Amen - fully support

but the Karens With a Penis don't get that, because they're sucking down soy "coffee" at the moment

Shhhhhhhh. You are observing Drama Queens in their natural habitat. I don’t think we are supposed to interact with them.

I hate to speculate about anything like this but I would assume the hospital he was at waiting to be airlifted out of (I assume in Starkville?) could give someone enough oxygen

I have no idea what the situation was with Leach but in the vast, overwhelming number of out of hospital cardiac arrests the issue is decided long before the patient arrives at the hospital.

A cardiac arrest patient will be getting oxygen within a few seconds of the EMS crew entering the house but it usually doesn't matter because the very second the arrest starts, the heart is no longer pumping blood. Literally half the blood in the patient's body still has oxygen attached but it's useless because the blood isn't moving throughout the body. That's particularly important when we're talking about the brain. You can cut your arm clean off, get it reattached an hour later and it will function again. The brain doesn't work that way. There are a few really rare exceptions like cold water drowning but for a run of the mill cardiac arrest in 4-6 minutes, permanent brain damage/death starts and it is irreversible.

Put another way, for every MINUTE your brain goes without oxygen, the chance of saving the victim drops 7-10%. The heart itself is more resilient. It'll very often restart 30 minutes or more post-arrest but the person is gone.

Your only shot is for someone to recognize that the person is in cardiac arrest, IMMEDIATELY start high quality CPR to artificially move the blood and keep getting oxygen to the brain until advanced care arrives (and it needs to get there pretty quickly too).

Unfortunately, that doesn't often happen even if other people are in the home. The patient feels bad so they go lay down. After a while, someone goes to check on them and can't wake them up so they call 911. We'll bust our arse to try for a miracle but the truth is it was too late when they picked up the phone to make the call.

Learn the signs of a heart attack, learn CPR, and make sure the people you live with do too. The life you save may be your own.

Well he’s telling you exactly why we’re in the situation we’re in right now. So many wanted to know what is happening, and that’s it. Lack of oxygen to the brain, and inability to get the heart back up and functioning. All that’s keeping him alive is life support.

I’m sorry to hear this is the case.

Coach Leach seems like a gem of a person and would be a huge loss. Hopefully there’s a miracle in store.
