It was a journo who spoke to Lane. So perhaps it wasn’t artfully worded or perhaps the journo transcribed it incorrectly etc.

I’m sure they saw people were reading into it and as that wasn’t the point of the comments, didn't want to mislead or make news.

I’m so sad tonight about coach Leach. I have not been able to dislike State as long as he’s been there. I read his book many years ago and have been a big fan of his for as long as I can remember.

I get where you’re coming from and I agree. But I can see why some people don’t.
