Can’t really explain it but losing the pirate has bothered me the last couple of days. I think all the stories shared recently just solidify what was already speculated about the guy.

this.

I think it has to do with him being a present coach and we all liked them. I've wanted him in the SEC for a long time

This tribute made for Leach is one of the best I have seen done.

Might be worth adding to OP.

Mike Leach Tribute YouTube

Has stats, has tributes from people in the business and then Mine Leach comments.

Harry Potter activist, that cracked me up.

Leach is a national treasure and transcends football with his wit and wisdom.

Saw this on a YouTube comment.

A I remember my dad emailed Mike Leach back in 2008, and told him he was a 1st time youth coach and needed to come up with some plays. So Leach sent him back the full Texas Tech playbook.

The beauty of CML life was him somehow making time for the poeple he came in contact with. We continue to hear examples of him going the extra mile for strangers, the unimportant.
The example this man set was truly amazing. The real deal.

Just reread Swing Your Sword.

in depth look at Leachs offensive strategy, philosophy and tactics. Very detail oriented and tireless worker. Extremely intelligent man.

Wes Welker who starred for Texas Tech and was a pro bowler in New England stated Mike Leach and Bill Belichick were very similar as coaches.

It's still hard for me to accept that he is gone.

Just doesn't seem real.

RIP, you've got to respect him as a man, coach, and leader. Most coaches can learn a thing or two from him.
