I'm not gay, nor do I have much of (any?) an opinion on the social issues of our time. That said, I've pretty much deduced that the folks "making you sick" are likely a bunch of kids in college who aren't yet secure enough with themselves not to direct pejoratives at others.
Blame their parents.
They'll learn. Maligning others to make one feel good about himself doesn't last long. Eventually, the party is over & you have to look at yourself in the mirror and have your own honest chat with God. That's when you account to The Big Guy for the "fudge packer/fairy" comments you made that day.

I don't think that's it at all. Most gay people I've known have had great senses of humor about who they are and what some in society think about them. They're usually the first to laugh along at jokes--often in a self-deprecating way.
It's just that so many of the jokes have become unfunny and obnoxious. Obviously that's just my opinion
. The thread about Michael Sam that contained 10 iterations of tight end, going deep, etc was as old as the hills. And to make the assumption that he'd be interested in every dude in the locker room is as audacious as assuming ever female wants you, just because you're a guy.

No, it is not like that. It is like assuming that I would want to hump every single woman I see in a locker room, just because they are physically fit.

Gay men are truly amazing people. We are told they can't deny that they are attracted to men. But at the same time, they have this amazing ability to turn off their attractions when in a locker room setting. I ain't buying it!

That said, Christians get torn apart for their stance on the homosexual lifestyle, and yet, I would be willing to bet MOST do not make remarks like this and those making these remarks in this thread do not identify with a Christian lifestyle. (If they do, they should take a long hard look at their comments)

They get torn apart for meaning what they say about the "homosexual lifestyle" as opposed to making juvenile jokes at someone else's expense with little to no malice behind them. When you treat someone like a second class citizen and proclaim that their very existence is anathema to civilized society, resulting in their damnation to eternal torment just for loving someone... you tend to be treated like an idiot.
