There is no chance Florida will ever hire Dan Mullen as head coach.

No chance.

Why wouldn't they hire Muller?

Who do you think they would go after?

Mullen isn't exactly a God here in Gainesville. He had some good offenses (2007, 2008), but he also had a terrible offenses (2005, 2006).

He is not as good as people make him out to be and Jeremy Foley knows that.

I don't know who we would go after, don't really care.

Yeah, winning national championships sucked with him running the offense. It's much better now that he's gone.

That game in the Swamp this season must have really chapped that arse

It really did chap my arse. Watching Mullen run the ball the entire game because he knew we weren't going to score points because our OC is a downy. I absolutely hate our offensive staff, and I hate the system we ran last year, which is no system/no identity.

Make no mistake about it, we won in 2006 despite our offense.

In 2007 and 2008 he had two of the greatest players in SEC history.

No, you guys beat us, you are better than us and Mullen is Steve Spurrier in comparison to Steve Addazio.

I would argue that Mullen did a damn good job in '06 working the offense with a full back and Leak. We didn't have a ton of studs on offense that year, but our defense was phenomenal. We routed what was believed to be the best team in the Nation by halftime of the NCG. Mullen was damn good while at UF, and I GUARANTEE you he would be in our top 5 if Meyer stepped down.

His legacy is a bit tarnished now, but in time those couple of championships and Utah's undefeated season will stand out.

i doubt if it's even temporarily tarnished. opposing fans are seldom a good judge of legacy because of their competitiveness. i never liked meyer's personality but you have to give him credit for his HC abilities, Tebow or not. and this article just may be a reprint of one done last year; the guy saved it and threw it out there hoping it would stick so he could claim genius and make a few bucks.

Leak wasn't exactly a shitty QB. Before Meyer got to UF he had already thrown 50 tds. Billy Latsko wasn't exactly a shitty fullback either. That offense was loaded at WR (Jemalle Cornelious, Bubba Caldwell, Dallas Baker, Percy Harvin) and had a good Oline.

It was dreadful for most of the season.

In 2005, it was their 1st season in Fla and you guys had to completely change offensive systems. How do you not get a pass for that?

In 2006- Mullen had Fla ranked 19th in total offense in the country. I fail to see how that is terrible.

Bottom line- you have never been better than when you had Mullen. Tebow wasnt the same without him.

You didn't watch our games clearly.

Our offense was ranked really high in stats last year as well, does that mean Addazio is a genius?

No, our offense was terrible in 2009 but it was still better than it was in 2006.

Steve Addazio is a god damn chimpanzee calling plays.

Barry Sanders would've looked like a benchwarmer in his system (if you can call it that).

If your offense ranks among the best in the nation in total yards and scoring, then it is one of the best offenses in the nation- and therefore- not terrible.

That was what our offense was last year and it was terrible.

Stats don't tell the whole story.

How many of our games did you watch in 2006?

In the regular season, in the 9 games we played against BCS teams we did not score over 28 points once.

Tennessee- 21
Kentucky- 26
Alabama- 28
LSU- 23
Auburn- 17
Georgia- 21
Vandy- 25
South Carolina- 17
FSU- 21

Also we had numerous Defensive and Special Teams TDs in those games.

Not many people work year round for 18 hours a day for half the year and 12 the rest.

Scoring 25 on Vandy makes an offense terrible.

I mean hell, in Zooks last year at Florida in 2004 we scored over 30 points in SEC games

Sportales as the source says it all. However, I would not be surprised to see him retire after the false alarm this Spring. He's won two NC's. Might be smart to quit while he's ahead and move on to something else.
