I think Auburn compliace caught the error and brought it to the principal's attention
I was thinking the same thing until I re-read the article. The principal said the grade change was noticed and changed back to the 70 and that was the transcript released. A month later, AU called about "another transcript" but after the principal reviewed it the grade on the transcript was the 70. So has it ever been determined there was "another" transcript sent out or was AU told what the grade was going to be and that's what they expected to be on the transcript?

Also, according to Shelby County TN court records available online, she apparently had some money troubles in the past few years. In fact, her paycheck from Memphis City Schools was being garnished up until she resigned.

Alabama never paid anyone.....Logan Young did....
True, but that was close enough for the NCAA.
If any money changed hands in Memphis, it won't have come directly from a school either.

and was a rogue booster at that
Who y'all were still responsible for. Sorry.
FTR: I don't agree with the NCAA on this. How is a University supposed to control what a rogue booster does? *off my soapbox*

the post was that Alabama paid Means' h.s. coach....which is not true....
Semantics where the NCAA is involved. Young was a booster and represented UA. His payment brought y'all severe sanctions and UA disassociated him from the program, banning him from involvement, which included: stripping him of his $40,000 luxury box at Bryant-Denny Stadium and canceling an insurance policy that would have paid $500,000 toward the Paul "Bear" Bryant Museum on campus.

I always thought you needed a transcript to enroll. I didn't think you could enroll on 'expected" grades.

Has this 8 page thread turned into Auburn is cheating, death penalty is imminent yet? Should I save my time and skip over it?

Yes you are factually correct and I don't think anyone agrees with the NCAA in this instance. the fact that Logan Young was so promenient carried the day in that argument.
What i will tell you is that it is highly questionable for anyone to assume that the Alabama coaching staff was involved in any of it

what is this all about?
They can't get their days right.
The teacher singled him out since he enrolled at Auburn on May 17th.
quote:
On May 18, while checking grades for errors, a teacher for a student whose name was redacted noticed that a grade had been changed from a 70 to a 76.
quote:
the teacher said he believed that he entered the 70 on May 4, then discovered on May 17 that it had been changed to a 76. He said he changed it back to a 70 that day.

But it doesn't matter if they knew about or were involved in it.
Why are we arguing this old shite anyways?

With your generous grading system it seems not even the state of Alabama thinks very highly of its educational system.

Before I conclude! Let me get this right. Auburn knew that the transcript was changed. With Auburn knowing that, they had to know that Robinson would be ruled ineligible. Yet, Auburn just let the kid practice as if he was eligible to play in the fall.
So why did they hold him out of practice when they did... he not been yet determined ineligible. Oh yea,,,, my bad.... the NCAA was getting involved at that point..
