In 2021, there will be a number of intriguing non-conference matchups. Here are our most anticipated non-conference games in 2021:
1. Alabama vs. Miami in Atlanta (Sept. 4)
The Crimson Tide will debut a new starting QB (Bryce Young) and new offensive coordinator (to be determined) against a Miami team with at least 19 returning starters, including QB D’Eriq King, who will be coming off a torn ACL in December.
2. Clemson vs. Georgia in Charlotte (Sept. 4)
Life after Trevor Lawrence begins for Clemson in a high-profile matchup of two top-five teams. It’s now D.J. Uiagalelei’s program (pronounced oo-ee-ANH-gah-leh-lay, if you want to start practicing). Georgia QB JT Daniels is among 12 returning starters for the Bulldogs.
3. Louisiana at Texas (Sept. 4)
4. Oregon at Ohio State (Sept. 11)
5. Iowa at Iowa State (Sept. 11)
6. Air Force at Navy (Sept. 11)
7. Nebraska at Oklahoma (Sept. 18)
8. Oklahoma State at Boise State (Sept. 18)
9. Cincinnati at Notre Dame (Oct. 2)
10. Liberty at Ole Miss (Nov. 6)
Former Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze returns to Oxford as Liberty’s head man. The Flames return 21 of 22 starters off last year’s 10-1 team, led by QB Malik Willis, an Auburn transfer. Freeze’s offense vs. Lane Kiffin and QB Matt Corral? The over/under will be 100. Grab some popcorn, sit back and enjoy (also take the over).

I’d have to go with LSU and UCLA for #1. Who doesn’t want to see the defending national champions?

Can we fast forward to August?

I hope King is ready to go for Miami. Finally a season opener worth the price of admission?

That seems like a really fast turnaround for this kind of injury and the way this guy plays.

Why would Ole Miss agree to this game?

Alabama-Miami isn't even my most anticipated OOC game on that date.
Clemson/UGA is a great rivalry that has been kind of dormant. Glad to see it being revived.
I'm not sure what ULL has returning, so depending on that I might even put that game above the Alabama-Miami game.

They love partying and are use to losing.

We agreed to it in 2016 while Freeze was our head coach

Alabama/Miami > Clemson/Georgia makes absolutely no sense

Hell yes. I'm in for this one.

I absolutely dread the Liberty game.

Ball St. vs Penn St on the list but a P5 matchup of Mizzou vs BC isn't? I'm not saying that our matchup is must watch tv, but at least its two P5 programs.

I guess we are still pretending Miami is back in 2021.

Navy vs Air Force gets the nod over Army vs Navy? I don't know about that one. Especially since Army won the CIC trophy this year.
While I could be way, way, off base I just don't see Miami vs Bama game being that note worthy. This is not Miami from their glory days. They have been, at best, a decent but not great ACC team of late.
Oregon at Ohio State is interesting because God knows the PAC 12 desperately needs to win a big regular season OOC game to help the conference return to prominence. You can make a legit claim that there are G5 conferences that are better, as a whole, than the PAC 12 has been recently.
Nebraska vs Oklahoma has that great tradition and rivalry behind it... but the Cornhuskers have stunk on ice for a while now. Oklahoma has their flaws but this sort of looks like the Sooners call their shot here and get some scrub time in during the 4th quarter.
Obviously my choice is Texas vs Arkansas. A great tradition and both teams are in a tremendous amount of flux at the moment. Texas will be getting a new HC broken in. Arkansas is still digging itself out of the crater that Bert and Chad left us. I have no idea who will win that one. It could be a close game or either team could absolutely walk the dog on the other. A lot of question marks.

Quite funny from a guy who pulls for a team that isn’t on that list and never will be on that list
