If you're asking whether this past weekend made me any more scared of Georgia... it hasn't.
I actually didn't get to watch any of the games this weekend, was kayaking/camping on Little Tybee Island. Pretty gay of me.
I'm hoping SEC Express on CBS brings me up to speed though.

oh yea, these next 2 weeks should be devoted to demonstrating how shitty the University of Florida, Gainesville, and jorts really are
i honestly was just gauging what you thought of the tech game, not if we scare you, because right now we don't even scare vandy. i am too pissed at Georgia to be talking too much shite

I haven't watched the GT game yet, just the variety of extreme opinions that always follow.
I'm not a freak-out kind of guy, so I still feel good about Tech in the ACC but I haven't watched it yet.

i think y'all need to fire groh after that one, that is all i'll really add. that defense is terrible.

Honestly i don't think Grantham looked too terrible in his actual play calls. We definitely needed to add a "spy" since Rodgers was running all over us. I think the biggest problem was just terrible tackling. I lost my shite when Geathers didn't get a safety when he was basically eating Rodgers on their two yard line. I'm not calling him our savior or anything, but i think the jury is still out.

Grantham acted like a little piece of shite during the FL and AU games last year. Looks like he hasn't slowed down.

his performances vs Boise State, GT, AU, UF, and and maybe or maybe not last week have only instilled within me that he is not that great. he isn't willie and like i said he has been the head of the defense with it's resurgence back to at least average standards. what pisses me off, which is not you or necessarily any poster here, is the Georgia fan who thinks he is god's gift to earth because he is
and or
- not willie- yea well he was a fricking awful DC, being better than willie is expected
- he is aggressive- ok so just because he is an arse hole he is the aggressive guy we need? hell, richt tempers whatever good aggression he shows and when he finally has these out bursts they are nothing but a black eye on the university. and these same fans don't want saban or anyone like him because they're arse holes and richt is a nice guy. so which is it?
- we changed to the 3-4. while i like that it doesn't guarantee shite
if anything i think you nailed it on the jury being out but i am confident in saying he hasn't displayed jack shite to indicate he is a great DC or worth 750 K a year and there was a reason he was our 4-5th pick
what did he do vs auburn

UPDATE: Grantham Speaks
Franklin:
McGarity to the Touchdown Club
quote:
“First of all, I love my players and appreciate their hard work and investment in our program,” Grantham said. “I feel a responsibility and loyalty to protect and stand up for them. However, I feel it’s important to educate them in all areas of life. While my intentions were genuine, I feel it was unfortunate that things escalated to a confrontation. However, I’ll use it as a learning experience for myself as well as my players so that we all become better men.”
Franklin:
quote:
Meanwhile, Franklin was asked at his weekly news conference on Monday if he had followed up on the incident. He said he Richt talked via telephone about the situation on Sunday and indicated there had been some correspondence with the SEC office.
“We have a very, very talented commissioner and they’ll do their job and do what they think is right and we’re going to move forward,” Franklin said as video of his 1 p.m. news conference was streamed live via the school’s website. “I have tremendous respect for the University of Georgia, their history, their program, their coach. We had a hard fought battle with a lot of passion, with a lot of emotion. . . . Some things got a little bit out of hand and I know myself and Coach Richt — I don’t want to speak for him — would have liked for the game to have ended a little differently and been able to just walk off the field.”
Asked specifically if he had any personal regrets with the way he behaved at the end of the game, Franklin said: “I’m not a guy who really has a whole lot of regrets. I’m pretty calculated and pretty well thought out for the most part with the things I do. I am an emotional guy, as you guys know.”
McGarity to the Touchdown Club
quote:
“I think the whole story will come out at some point in time. Right now both institutions are basically filing a report to the Southeastern Conference office on really what happened from Todd’s standpoint and, I’m sure, from Coach Franklin’s standpoint. That will go to the commissioner, and then we’ll see where things go after that. But I don’t think there’s any question that . . . at the end of the day that’s not the way you want to end athletics competition. It’s kind of like Mark said after the game: ‘At the end of the game, you want to go over there and shake the opponent’s hand and move on to the next game.’
“I won’t get into specifics, but I think if you ask Todd if he had to do it over again, I think he definitely would do some things differently. I think that’s not the way you want to represent your institution on either side. At the end of the day, I think you’ll see that. But I know Todd is in the process of making a statement. We want to get ahead of this and deal with it up front to where there’s nothing out there that we need to be worrying about the rest of the week.
“It was kind of like we saw at the end of the NFL [49ers-Lions game] yesterday –- I think we had a situation there with a couple of coaches. Things get heated. There probably are a lot of things people would like to take back, but at the end of the day that’s not what needs to happen in college athletics. We need to talk about the student-athletes and what they did that day — and not reduce it to where things off the field are the topic of discussion during that day. So it’s something we’re really not proud of, and we’ll deal with it and learn from it and also teach our student athletes on the positives and negatives of situations like that.”

McGarity was taught well by his master.

i hope he finds another gem like his master. i also hope he gets the chance he needs to do so.

McGarity (along with everyone else) needs to retire the phrase "At the end of the day."

oh idk, i always loved that little segue myself

So is Franklin someone that is always thinking out everything he does or is he an emotional guy?
Posted on 10/17/11 at 2:38 pm to new92
i think both grantham's and franklin's comments can be summed up as "sorry i'm not sorry"

Imma thinking Grantham was told by McGarrity "hellua good job.. you made me and the Dawg Nation proud.... so this is your reprimand, I'll deal with the commissioners office.. get your arse back to coaching"
I hope this was what McGarrity really did say to him.
Grantham is an a-hole, and has a short fuse, but thats what I like about him. His willingness to fight for his players will certainly make them fight for him.

Yea I type slow..im on a JC graduate

Grantham better get his emotions under control in a hurry or he'll be out of a job. I'm glad that he wants to take his players backs, but he crossed the line doing it in such an egregious manner.
