It looks inevitable that Nutt will push to get Masoli cleared in time for fall practice, especially since he just lost their backup QB Cotton to transfer.

Thoughts? Masoli was pure fireworks at Oregon but I think he's only the difference of 1, maybe 2 wins for Ole Miss this year.

I hope this is not true. Masoli is one hell of an athlete, he's gonna help them win a lot more games and give SEC defenses a massive headache

Taking players kicked off of other teams doesn't look good on Ole Miss--regardless of the reason Masoli was let go.

Wow, after this kid is clearly a thief and has no problem walking into a frat house and walking out with valuable goods of people that he knows. He was at a frat party at this house before robbing its residents. And this was done I think after his breakout season when things were going really well for this kid. Yeah, Houston, this is a kid that's a real character guy that you want to play for your team!!

With Masoli's history of trouble, I doubt SEC defenses will get much of an opportunity to see him play, unless he is somehow completely sheltered from the environment in Oxford.

Is Masoli eligible?

Unless the transfer rules have changed, he would have to sit out a year.

Masoli means trouble for the SEC, IMO. However, that won't be an issue until next year. He has to sit out one season.

According to a local Oxford writer on the radio yesterday, he's graduated & is elgible to play this season as long as O.Miss has a graduate school that he can enroll in. Missed the specifics but he is most definitely elgible this yr,much like the Duke basketball player who transferred to Syracuse & played QB last y. The O.Miss admissions board has to give the OK to him before he can enroll, however.

Nutt is willing to do anything to win. Love him or hate him. If the kid can stay out of jail in Mississippi, he may cause quite a few upsets in a Houston Nutt offense by the time he has left. USC could not do anything to stop the guy when they played them last year.

I thought the reason the Duke bball player was able to do this was because it was a different sport. He is transferring to play football again? Does it make a difference. Can anyone explain this further?

He is eligible to play because he will be entering graduate school at OM in a field of study that Oregon does not offer.
