There is no scenario where a program allows a head coach leaving for a rival to remain coaching. It’s so retarded that this would even be considered if not for Lane and all the other bullshite peddlers on ESPN.

I mean for a program that's been in the desert for so long, why not take your best shot at a title? The coach is leaving either way, why not roll the dice at a natty?
Do you not recall when lane went to some Florida school and Saban agreed to let him coach? Well, Saban fired him.

Why? I’m not the one that threw out the false flag that LSU would allow Kiffin to coach. I can promise lots of things that will never happen too. LSU will never compete for a PAC 12 championship. See how easy that was to say something like we really wanted Lane to coach OM while knowing full well OM had already said weeks earlier that wasn’t going to happen.
It’s PR and you bought it hook, line, and sinker.

No. You just think you’re smart. And I didn’t throw it out, the AD said it point blank.

Not his team. Once he decided to go to a conference rival, it’s over. He, of course , knew that but he is just trying to spin this
to help recruiting. He wanted to gut the Ole Miss team for LSU next year and to do that
he wants to be perceived as the victim.

That's got to be humiliating.
We are not the same.
Keep melting.

I think he was truly content with this not getting out and coaching our the playoffs and going to LSU after. No secrets that big can hide.

This will be fun. Why do you think I think I’m smart. I have never stated anything like that.
My point still holds. Do you really think LSU wanted him to coach OM, or do you think that was an easy way to attempt to take heat off of Lane and point it at OM?
If I were you, I wouldn’t take calls from overseas. They will take all your money and she is really a he.

You make definitive statements without any facts.

It was incentive to get Lane to come.

He was coming either way. You just chose to believe that was a factor. Again - false flag. This was all about Lane looking like less of a d-bag for abandoning his team before the season was over.

Ok wtf has kiffen proven in all the years he has coached no championships to show but go ahead pay that money

Fair enough. Well said.
And we will be saying something similar in three to four years when he leaves for Bama.

So sad Carter didn't let Kiffin coach the best team Ole Miss has had in 60 years. Why wouldn't he think about the players?
Posted on 12/1/25 at 7:18 pm to TigerFan244
I believe over time U of MS boosters and bigwigs will turn on AD Carter, and his failure to handle this whole affair differently.
ESPECIALLY if Ole Miss collapses in the postseason.
They can’t hurt Kiffin so they’ll need a scapegoat.

There’s no irony. I told you LSUs AD flat out said it.

Again - false flag

I do think that they wanted Lane to coach the playoffs, but not for good reasons. They don’t want Ole Miss to win, they just wanted him to have more face to face time to persuade Ole Miss players to join him.

Marty Smith is a CAA client. As is almost every talking head on ESPN. Connect the damn dots.
