Cam was the only rookie qb EVER in the nfl to reach 4000 yards.
Andrew Luck beat Newtons rookie record by almost 300 yards.
That being said. I take Cam, and I hate that arrogant tool.

If you honestly believe this, then you don't know shite about football. JM throws a football like someone throws a baseball. Period.

Cam newton paved the way for Andrew luck.

I'm not sure this question is as easy as it seems. Newton is the obvious choice. He took Auburn to the title almost single-handedly and is a better athlete. But Jesus Christ would it be hard to pass on Manziel if you're looking for that sort of quarterback. And let's not go overboard in our Cam elegies -- his team very nearly lost to UK and struggled mightily with several others. They could easily have lost more games than TAMU lost last year. That said, even the games they could have lost -- LSU, Mississippi State, Bama -- were won pretty much by Cam taking over. The only one I recall him not being particularly impressive in was the Clemson game.
So I guess I'd take Cam, but I sure as hell wouldn't want to play my team against someone who took Manziel.

frick no. Barry Sander's Heisman year trumps anything JM will ever do.

No. Just...no. Manziel's a helluva player, but he's far too wild to be a better pocket passer than Cam.

Cam Newton paved the way for the highest rated QB since Elway? So he could throw for over 4,000 yards on a team with no running game, and a coach who would rather throw than screw his wife.
Yeap, you nailed it. If you said that in regards to Wilson, Kaeperprick, and RG3 that might actually make sense. However saying it regarding the best pocket passer prospect to come out in 2 decades is ludicrous.

What? Cam broke every rookie qb record.

Cam newton was the first rookie qb to preform so highly. He was the first. Are you gonna argue Manziel is better than luck? Cause this is about cam vs manziel.

Already said I would take Cam.
He just didn't pave the way for a traditional pocket passer in a Bruce arians offense.
His resounding success as a running/throwing qb as a rookie did lead the way for the other guys I mentioned. Teams took confidence from his success and duplicated it, in some ways improved on it, with other dual threat qbs. If given the choice right this minute I would take Russel Wilson over Cam for an NFL offense. He is better at reading defenses. Which saying something when he can't see over linemen but cam is tall enough to see the whole field.

If there has even been a college QB better than Johnny Manziel, it's Cameron Newton. Johnny has better numbers, but Cam's got the ring. Advantage: Cam.

A one eyed cam and it still wouldn't be close

I'd take Cam. He can play pro-ball. Johnny Jack Flash will not play QB in the NFL.
I don't care what a college player does in the pros. They are completely different.
See Reggie Bush, Tim Tebow, etc.

Manziel is a playmaker, but Newton was a better QB.

Yes, Cam was phenomenal. They are both unbelievable.
But JM is doing this as a freshman and a sophomore with a team playing in its first two years in the SEC. Getting dropped into the SEC from the Big 12 is like getting dropped into a NASCAR 500 Race driving a Ford Taurus. You're not even built to compete. This is what is really amazing. I think they were 8 points away from being undefeated last year and beat Bama at Bama. Florida was fortunate that they got aTm after the Aggies'first game was cancelled because of terrible weather. Otherwise, LSU might have been their only loss and they probably would have played in the title game.
Cam kicked around for a few years at Florida, played junior college and then went to Auburn. His season there was just about as good as it gets. But he did have more time to get to that level.

Newton and it's not even close. He single handedly carried his team to the NC. His RB's were meh , his WR's were meh , and AU's defense was garbage.

For comparison sakes it was 100 times better than A&M's though
Auburn doesn't play for the national championship without Nick Fairley

Yup, A&M would kill for a Fairley.
