Do you know who?

TE Luke Deal. Gus was on the road all day yesterday. This reduced buyout talk starting to smell like some BS to try and frick with the recruiting class. The university hasn't said a word on the Stoops crap or this buyout junk

Don't know what is so hard to understand. He is about to get fired and is holding on for dear life to stay at a major college HC position.

Like someone said, he is making a huge bet on himself and about all he can do is break even.

Again, the big point is that if Gus doesn't drive his short bus the admin's way, now, he's gone. He has no choice, really. And yes, they're sticking it to Sexton, too, since he was the one who really screwed Auburn to begin with and that is why they are in this situation.

It getting out is classic Auburn. People behind the scenes running the show and trying to power play his removal.

I know you can't be talking about 2013 because Auburn won that on the last play of the game, so you must be talking about last year. A 14 point game is having your arse handed to you on a platter? Nahh. 52-21 is having your arse handed to you on a platter.

I seriously do not know what he was thinking. He basically gave up a bunch of money and power to stay when 99% of people would have said pay me or I will be here next season

Possible that Gus agreed to a 16-18 million buyout in order to keep his gig in order to prove he is a good coach. Add the 7 million he will be paid to the 16/18 and he is still in high cotton. Logic says Gus really really wants to prove he is the real deal. It can't be any other way otherwise he has 32 million headed his way.

Unless there's something we don't know about...which is likely.

It's obvious that the only criteria for the Auburn head coach's job is to beat Alabama every 3 or 4 years...frick everything else....any you wonder why folks call y'all lil brother.

I can't believe he's doing this, or that Auburn was considering getting rid of him. He's the best they can expect. No way to catch up to Bama while Saban is there.

NCAA violation. He can't pay assistsant coaches raises out of his own pocket. Richt tried to do this a few years ago and got his hand slapped.

Pretty sure we can find somebody and pay them a hell of a lot less to win 7 fricking games with top-10 recruiting classes.

Nobody (reasonable) expects that. Winning 9 games shouldn't be that much a stretch with that kind of roster and facilities.

I actually believe you. There's got to be something that we haven't been told. Too many people that Guy would/should listen to would have advised him against something this crazy.

Nothing about Gus screams loyalty and love for Auburn to me. Nor have I seen much lately that shows that he's driven by winning.

If this situation is actually even confirmed, I doubt we will ever know the whole story. No way Sexton lets him make that deal without something else in play.

The barn as usual does everything based on Bama while they should be looking over the other shoulder at Kirby and UGA. The Dawgs are going to make life miserable for the Barn since Auburn needs those elite Georgia players that Kirby is getting now. The barn is in bigger trouble than just Gus.
