Stay safe! Haven't checked the forecast yet, is Mississippi gonna miss this? It's pretty nice in Oxford right now.

No we aren't, bad stuff isn't here yet. The storms now are just isolated events. North and East MS, Alabama, North Ga, Tenn, and Kentucky all are in a moderate to high risk area for tornadoes.

Beautiful in Fayetteville today. Thankful we aren't in line for any of this crap.

Everything in Lexington is shutting down early. Except my work. We are also not allowed to turn the tv on to hear any warnings.

Why has the University of Alabama not issued that they are closing?

Yeah, like I said earlier schools with JCPS were already closed for a professional development day but those of us that had to come in are stuck here until further notice. The shittiest part is that University of Louisville, 5 mins from the school I work at, is closing at 1 pm and they NEVER close early.

Davis might block the storms for ya'll... we just all grab hold of Sidney's ankles and let his weight anchor us to the ground

My thoughts and prayers to those hit by the storms this week.

From NWS Louisville:
The very strong vertical shear...moderate instability...a moist low-level environment...and the likelihood of a few discrete warm sector supercells / and supercells within the line along the front/...all appear supportive of a potentially significant tornado episode with a few long-track/strong tornadoes. The most probable area for damaging tornadoes will be southeast of the surface low track in the more established warm sector...or near and south of the Ohio River from extreme souther Indiana into central Kentucky / northern middle Tennessee.

UA sucks for this situation. We were in classes April 27th too. Witt can get all upset over a frat guy making a racist remark, but tornadoes everywhere? Meh.

don't act like it's a safety issue. you just want out of class.

I don't think I'll ever see anything like April 27th. I hope not, anyways.
