If you were going to pick an MLB MVP from a list of former SEC players, who would it be?

1. Pete Alonzo (Florida)
2. Andrew Benintendi (Arkansas)
3. DJ LeMahieu (LSU)
4. Whit Merrifield (So. Carolina)
5. Dansby Swanson (Vanderbilt)

It's kinda wild that as good as the SEC has been in baseball, only a handful of alums are in the WAR top 150.

I like college baseball, but as we all know it only makes up a sliver of the pool that feeds to the major leagues. And a large chunk of the very best amateur/international players never play it.

Bregman has only recently started to find his stroke. He's hitting about .245, but has hit about .375 over the past month.

Montgomery is pitching well, but would be a condidate for Cy Young award, not MVP.

7. Dansby Swanson (Braves/Vandy) (+4.2)

Swanson is having a career year. Hitting for average and power. The Braves play the Mets starting tonight.

Benintendi has been lighting it up! The Houston Astros were glad to see him leave town. He was on base constantly.
