Texas just wrapped up a 7 year net spend of right at $71mil — for Charlie Strong and Tom Herman. Not counting any coordinators/assistant salary or buyouts. $10+ mil/yr just for the HBC.
That’s also not counting Sark’s buyout at Alabama.

To be fair to her, it is A&M.

I would say the same for UNC with Mack Brown

Bob Stoops was an excellent coach at OU but all those spread teams in the Big 12 must have stole his desire to keep trying to win that Big Game at the end. You can't play good defense in that league no matter how hard you try. Sark better be elite in recruiting and scoring.

Texas had the no. 3 classes in '18 and '19 so he should have something to work with. I just don't think Sark is much of a hc; great oc though.

You sound bitter.
Over 2017 & 2018. We won 22% of our games.
Mack returned in 2019 and we immediately increased to 54% and this year won 67% after a hard fought Orange Bowl loss.
You can choose to ignore the turnaround Mack is making in our program if you want. Unfortunately, ignoring it isn’t going to help Wake compete with it over the next 5 years.

Easy to win in the ACC for a 1/2 decent coach. Conference wasn’t familiar with his offense and defense. Won’t have as much luck next year. They’ll be on to him.

Who are you talking about? Was having a full year of film to review not enough for other ACC teams to prepare for Longo & Bateman in year 2?

Another issue
....is they simply have had enough of aTm winning the battle. They can't stand any aTm success and now they are on a mission to nip that shite in the bud. UT is much more than a state university. They have extremely high opinions of their school and themselves (perhaps for a reason). If Sark can get through to them they may improve. But they have to go through OU to get there. I'll repeat for the fourth time today, they will push for expansion of the playoffs and do everything they can to get a piece of it. The lobbying for eight teams will be relentless this year.

You're high off your arse if you think texas isnt a right hire away from being good. They have the money and can recruit a top ten class within 100 miles of their campus. Saban is elite, they took their shot at a young offensive guy and it didn't work. Its not like Charlie strong went and immediately coached some random team up either. It is what it is. We need them to stay asleep, if they get good they'll be a motherfricker to deal with.

Correct me if I am wrong...but only 1 of your losses was by more than one score? Seems to me to be a very competitive team. Looking forward to someone besides Clemson being successful in the ACC.
Cheers.
Cheers.

Otherwise, like I said glad they showed up especially with the numerous star players opting out. Great game.

So everything Texas ever does is because of our deep hatred and desire to be better than Texas A&M? No other reason?

The irony and lack of self-awareness here is truly one of a kind

You’re correct. We’ve lost two games in the last two years by more than one score. ND this year and Texas A&M last night. The other 8 losses over the last two years were by an average of 4 points. We’ve been competitive with everyone we’ve played since Mack returned.
Cheers

My bad and thanks for cheering us on. Yea, I was proud of how they showed too but still hard not to wonder ‘what if.’
You’re right that ND & Clemson making the playoff helped us secure the Orange Bowl. But without COVID altering our original schedule and forcing ND into the conference, there’s a good chance we could have played Clemson in the ACCCG.
