Had McElroy not had such an absolutely incredible D to rely on, as well as a stellar rushing attack where he didn't really have to throw the ball, then i think he would be in trouble.
And yet he beat Pryor in every passing stat except TDs, with Pryor edging him 18-17...weird.

If I'm not mistaken, our pass to run ratio was pretty even most games last year, but yeah you're right, he never had to pass the ball.

Pryor is the better passer
His accuracy is complete shite. The only thing that gets him by is the athleticism

i can't answer the question...nobody can, because its a dream sequence.
well no shite. i am asking for your honest opinion of a hypothetical situation. and would it be a "dream sequence" so you call it, if both star backs got hurt(i am in NO way wishing this, lol), but it is something i'd like your honest opinion on. Why can't you say whether you think McElroy would be a better or worse, or hell, just AS GOOD of a passer if he couldn't rely on a strong ground game? Come on..
quote:
Gmac would pass for 5,550 yards and 79 TDs, win the Unitas and Heisman awards, and be the first player chosen in the NFL draft.
Wow..talk about going off the handle. I guess you have nothing better to do than to be a little smartass about everything. You COULD grow up a bit, but that's probably asking too much of you.
quote:
.its as valid as any other answer you're going to get.
No it's not..because it's irrational. I didn't ask for stats, you dipshit. I simply asked how good/bad of a passer you think he would be without the ground game, and your hardheaded self, as usual, can't answer shite because youre so stuck up your own pompous arse.(That's a figure of speech; didn't mean to confuse you)

Reasoning won't work with them, Cheetah Flex. They'll defend McElroy to the death no matter what.

Richardson and Ingram ran the ball 416 times.
McElroy passed the ball 325 times.
Not 50/50, but don't act like McElroy never had to pass.

I never liked Alabama. They are so full of themselves.

Cheetah, your question is just dumb, "what-ifs" have no bearing on anything, and they never will, when will you corndogs realize that?

And had an astonishing 7.72 YPA. Barely edging out Ingrams YPC

That's a balanced attack.
Seriously, you guys will bitch about anything. McElroy had more yards passing, a better TD/INT ratio, and a better record.
Pryor might be a better player, but it's stupid to take away from one player's accomplishments in order to make him a great player.

Let's don't give all the credit to McElroy, he couldn't have done it without Julio there to drop all those passes.

Still better than Pryor.

That's the funny thing.
YOU guys are the ones comparing his stats to Pryor's..I look at him from an athlete standpoint and he is better..I look at (Pryor) throwing the ball and, at least to me, he has a better arm..
Accuracy? Gmac
Playcalling at the line/Knowledge of the offense? Probably Gmac
Again(and i've mentioned this a hundred times)I am not trying to bash McElroy..I like the guy. He's a class act and a solid starter. I simply don't think he would do as well passing the football if he didn't have the talent to fall back on, since you guys like determining a guy's physical talent based on wins and losses, which is kind of bogus. Now if bama's D and running game were depleted, and McElroy came through and led the tide to wins BY HIMSELF(meaning the game rode on his shoulders)..then man, all props to the guy..
Great quarterback on a horrible team? Joe Flacco, Delaware
Horrible quarterback on a great team? I don't know why, but Andrew Hatch keeps coming to mind
It's just tough to evaluate a quarterback based on wins and losses, and especially when the team he is playing for is so talented, he doesn't have to make big plays.
It will be interesting to see how he translates to the NFL.

Yeah apparently your brain is too simple for hypothetical questions. Run along now, Forrest.

What is this "NFL" you speak of?

I gave you a hypothetical answer. You just didn't like it. See what hypotheticals accomplish?

Because I wasn't the one comparing McElroy to Pryor.
You were.
