WillyT is really just an IronPuppet hanger-on these days.

The Cult just doesn't like the narrative. True as it may be.

If you had a working knowledge of football it would occur that dinking and dunking is what QBs do when they have no place to go with the ball and they are just trying to get something out of the play.

What the Mac Attack is known for is sending the ball on time and throwing receivers open, kinda like the 5 TDs and 450 plus yards put on the Barner's head last season.

Sure if you mix it in with the Deep ball. The only real deep ball that Jones has completed was a Hail Mary against Dallas that the safety overran.

I wonder how many memes WillyTard had to delete when Bama put Auburn away?

No one, no one threw the deep ball better than Mac Jones last season. You should know that with the 450 he put on your guys.

He didn't develop amnesia. And that pill he put in the basket against Dallas was exactly what I watched all last season. And so did you. You'll have to ask Josh McDaniels about what he chooses to dial-up and when.

Frankly, 6 in a roll and a shoo-in for rookie of the year may indicate Josh might not care too much about your personal opinion on how they handle their rookie QB.

I wonder how many trailers were lost to bookies when it took a 20 point favorite Bama 4 OTs to beat a 6-5 Auburn team with its hurt backup QB ?

No, the D keeps them in the games. That and playing one of the easiest schedules in the NFL. Like I said dink and dunk are something that opposing Ds will allow.

So defenses play prevent defense against him all game, because they have a good defense.

The problem is the Pats D doesn't allow Jones to have to win a game.

Those bastards.

I wonder how he would have done at Cincinnati last year. It must be nice to slither into the best nfl program in the country.

Best organization in football... He is lucky to have been drafted there.

Unless you ask Iron Puppets, then it's only because of Brady and Belichick is on his way to being fired after the Mac Jones experiment.

I tell you, there were a lot of sad faces down at the Opelika Home Depot this morning. I was genuinely concerned for one phi beta kappa who had a sharp tool in his hand and seemed like nowhere to go.

Not prevent. Prevent is used so you don't get beat long. The Ds don't fear that happening against Jones. But it is hard to stop the 5 yard crossing passes or screens. Jones is very accurate with that pass. With the Pats D, the Offense gets the ball back pretty quick, so the dinks and dunks do not have to sustain 11 play drives to win. Just score every now and then and let the D do the rest. It works against what the Pats Schedule has presented.

Sure. JB9 did a great job last year and Cincy would have been bad in 2020 regardless of who their QB was. But lets not act like Burrow is solely responsible for the Bengels turnaround. They have a good runningback, nailed 2 picks at wide receiver in Higgins and Chase to completement Boyd, and their O-Line has improved.

No, most AU fans thought this was going to be a 40 point loss. I was tempted to bet on Bama with that little point spread. Did you see AU the week before against USC ?

That is because his WRs were running at least 3 yards ahead of the defenders. The SEC is not the NFL and his deep game is proving it.

IP and Hidin' Willy posts back-to-back? It's like the name "Mac Jones" is a bat signal for those two!

He ranks 21st in "Air Yards Per Attempt" at 7.5 air yards per attempt (the distance past the line of scrimmage the ball travels prior to reaching the intended target).

However, the fact that he is 12th in yards per attempt shows that he throws an accurate ball that allows his receivers to get a little more YAC than other QBs.

Their top 3 WR are Nelson Agholar, Jakobi Meyers (undrafted free agent), and Kendrick Bourne (undrafted free agent). That is probably one of the weakest WR trios in the league. Probably has a bit to do with the type of offense that is called.

Mac Jones is doing a phenomenal job running the offense as a rookie.
