Totally different QB under pressure. He will get pressured in the NFL.

This is why Fields is dropping.

I think the point is that he played a behind a good line and had good receivers. However, he did face pressure from time to time. And when he did have pressure, he handled it as well as anybody else in the country in college, and twice as well as Fields did.

Is that why he had one of the highest completion percentages outside of the pocket in college football last year?

Seriously, the "GM killers" are the QBs with the measurables and "athleticism"...yet can't process quickly and make poor decisions.

Sure, #3 seems high since he kinda came out of nowhere, but he earned being a first round pick last season. I do know I wouldn't have traded him for Fields, Lawrence or any other college QB last year. The 49er fans are generally negative on him at 3... apparently they think they're drafting for the 100m hurdles or long jump and want a guy who has played 1 game in nearly 2 years and has never played any real competition. I almost want them to go with Lance and fail spectacularly because of their jacka$$ fans.

But to be fair, Mac was on a completely stacked team whereas Ohio State is completely devoid of talent

One of the reasons people insist Jones was never pressured was the way he moved in the pocket. He may not be an elite athlete, but he is elite at moving with the pocket.

per Sports Info Solutions, Jones completed 56 of 88 passes for 976 yards, 556 air yards, 13 touchdowns and int, under pressure in games he started.

2nd in Nation in that period.

I mean if we're going nitpick...guess who ranked near the bottom against pressure in P5?

All these idiots claiming Mac will suck in the pros haven’t watched a single minute of film on him.

He side stepped pressures, threw under pressure, got hit on multiple throws and still threw dime after dime.

He’s legit and there’s nothing that is going to change that.

I mean look at the stats. Ignore Jones' total td's because he played 5 more games. But look at the int's. He had 2 less in 5 more games than Fields. Fields doesn't go through his progressions and he stares downs receivers, and he chokes under pressure. Lance's stats are from 5 games, and are real good. SF's decision was always about Lance or Jones, not Fields.

But then he heard that Atlanta wants Jones to understudy under Ryan and was going to pick him at 4, and Jones is the only qb Atl is interested in this year. So SF traded up to 3 to make sure he gets his man. Now if the powers that be change Shannahan's mind(unlikely) and SF gets smebody else, Then Atlanta will take Jones. Jones will be 3 or 4 either way. But SF hired the best availabe qb evalutor and qb coach in the world as their head coach in Shannahan. Hard to imagine he doesn't have the final say. And he says Jones.

Where did you read this? Because what you just posted is the first time I have ever heard the Birds were looking at using the #4 pic on Mac Jones.

It came from McShay's source inside the 49ers and is why McShay was the first to change Jones to #3. So in other words, McShay didn't hear it from Atlanta but he trusted his San Fran source enough to change it. And his source said they had to do it because Atlanta was going to get Jones at 4 if they didn't.

But you know what. It still works out well for Atlanta because Pitts is likely the best player in the draft. So I can understand you being happy with that pick. Plenty of time to get Ryan an understudy either later on this draft or next year, butt when will Atlanta have another chance to get the best player at his position like Pitts?

There's no quarterback I'd take above him except maybe T Law.

I suspect Lance will be good but he is so raw. I think Fields is dumb as dirt and will bust. So yes I think TL and MJ are the two most nfl ready with Lance and Wilson having higher ceilings.

He's pretty good. Stature somewhat like Big Ben. May help him to shed some pounds and get a little faster.
