and i love the narrative that clemson is a bigger media darling than bama, and that's why trevor gets more fanfare.

posted this in another thread, but it's more applicable here...how irrelevant is max jones? had "the best season in SEC QB history", and couldn't even finish 2nd in the heisman? since 2000, the last 21 heismans have gone to 17 QBs. they win it at an +80% clip. imagine being considered such a nerd that heisman voters would rather try to give it to a guy that looks like a girl.

I bet this sounded smart in your head.

no response huh?

think about it this way instead...Joey B. has a goat QB season, one that bama posters think is runner-up to max's current season, and overwhelmingly wins the heisman by the largest margin ever. why couldn't max crack the top 2? and you even proved he's statically better than trevor. what gives?

i'll yell ya what gives. media bias. the media hates bama.

Jones will make a living in the NFL being a FG Holder, TL will be in a few Pro-Bowls.

Skrayper is having issues juggling threads, today, on how 'smart' he is.
Links is now waiting for him. He's had three tries.....there's no way he sacks up and tries to talk his way out of this wet paper bag.

If he does, though, it's going to be the kind of similar stupid we've seen before.

I don't normally respond to inane babble, but alright.

Lawrence scored votes on the back of everyone saying he was a great QB despite never really demonstrating it. He scored votes on folks saying he'll be the first pick, and he scored votes based on a pretty decent career.

Never higher than 8th in passer rating, despite throwing to 4* and 5* receivers against ACC competition (typically 2* and 3* DBs). That's pretty bad, honestly. Burrow, Jones, Trask - they were throwing against the best Corners and Safeties in college football. Lawrence was throwing against teams that couldn't break the top 20 in talent.

So you can enjoy his #1 draft status and pray he isn't JaMarcus Russell 2.0. Mac will console himself with setting passing records and winning a real conference's championship.

yea yea yea...none of that is what i'm asking.

why didn't max get real, actual consideration for the QB award (heisman) when he was far and away the statistically best QB this year? is it because he's irrelevant in the voters eyes? they see him as a lanky nerd with no real nfl ambition? what's the deal?!

but why aren't his physical attributes helping him put up better numbers against lesser competition
Stafford was very clearly more physically talented than Jake Fromm. Looking at their college stats, you'd never know it.

That being said, outside of running, Sunshine is overrated af.

Because they awarded votes to Lawrence based on what I just said.

You give votes to one, the other has less. You understand that, correct?

He is a very mediocre passer; not even top 4 within the SEC this season honestly.

He doesn't look like Helen Hunt, so he's got that going for him.

Lawrence has lived off that win over Bama almost as much as Manziel did. Wins over Bama are so rare that when they happen it literally makes careers.

If only Jake Fromm had've had one....

Let's face it. Neither Mac Jones nor Trevor Lawrence has shown the ability to put a team on his back and carry them to a win. Both have operated with such a large talent advantage surrounding them that I don't think either can operate effectively without it.
