Don’t underestimate O’s ability to screw something up. Should is a strong word.

We may win that game but most likely it won’t be pretty. I really think a 6-7 win year is probable for LSU this coming year (and that hurts to admit). The first 5 (and really 3) games will be the big story. A losing record through that stretch and I think we see the AD fired and at that point you can bet the bank that O is done after the season.

We still have a lot of talent but O is so inconsistent in what he wants. He wants a pro style qb then a dual threat, then air the hall out then ground and pound. He is great at raising a deflated team up and raising spirits but long term he just isn’t the answer.

Why over rate Aggies?

They won't be that tough. Not to say we will be any better but I don't expect immediate improvement

Eeked out two wins against the two worst AU teams of the last 30 years. Grats!

It's not LSU's fault that Auburn regularly rolls out teams that finish last in the West (4 times in the last 10 seasons). Seems to be a regular occurrence on the Plains.

Feast or famine for us. 2 sec titles, a national title, playing for another title, and coming up a game short of playoff in 17 did okay to offset those shitty years though.

You really think your team next year could win 9 games? Wow.

When has it ever been impossible for LSU to win 9 games? The 90s?

We may not win 9, but it’ll take orgeron more than a year to make 9 wins a stretch (“wow”) at LSU. Worst season this century has been 8 wins on a few occasions. Never consecutive

We fell off in recruiting this year, but still have the bulk of 3 top 10 classes on campus.

Back to back sub 9 win seasons (won 9 last year) and a couple more classes outside the top 10 and 9 wins may enter “wow” territory.

Outside of GA being solid, it looks about normal. I’m happy playing that schedule and knowin where we stand throughout the year as opposed to finding out in December.

There’s no way LSU is beating Bama.
And UGA will probably be a heavy favorite.

Just looked at A&M's 2019 schedule. You're right, it's harder.

Notable road games: UGA, Clemson, LSU

Notable home games: Bama, Auburn, State, South Carolina

That's rough.

I don't understand why they are acting like MSU didn't beat them by 30 points. MSU returns 18 starters and will have way more depth this year. If their QB is fully recovered they probably are 10 pts better than LSU. Their backup could probably squeak out a 3 point win.

They will challenge Auburn for 2nd in the west and have a real shot at a 10-2 regular season.

LSU is looking at 8-4 and probably 4th in the West.

Everyone is down on LSU and it's tough as a fan to realize your administration has temporarily given up on football.

The firing of Les Miles and hiring of ED O was like punting on first down.

Did you watch any of state's away games last year? Did you notice how great that talented team played when they weren't in starkvegas?

LSU will have a top two "D" in the SEC. Oline will be top of the line making anything possible on "O".

They honestly believe that they are an elite program, when in fact, they are the worst program in the sec west.

Nice straw men.

Nobody said we are an elite program. We just happen to have had a really good team in 2017 and it essentially returns intact in 2018.

Meanwhile, you didn't have to be elite to beat LSU in 2017 (ask Troy). Then, LSU lost a lot from 2017 on offense and defense. LSU won't be an elite team next year. MSU will be better than LSU next year. Will that equate to a win for MSU? Maybe not, it's in Tiger Stadium. But I can guarantee you it won't be a cakewalk. If LSU wins, it will be the recent norm in the series - a one possession squeaker.

LSU is a far more elite program than MSU. Our history sucks, yours is great. I never even hinted otherwise, but by all means project crap on me. All I am saying is we are going to be really good next year. We aren't a "should win" for anyone outside of Alabama. And 2018 LSU ain't Alabama.

After next year, we may well go back to being a doormat for a decade. LSU may go on to become elite again. But I'm talking about next year. You guys are the ones talking about 100 years past and future. Next year, you're gonna have your hands full. It's not crazy talk. A lot of people will have us ranked 15-20 going into the season. And honestly, that's probably too low.

Did You? Are you referring to a 5 TD win at LT? Or a 3 TD win in college station? Or maybe our win at Arkansas (where we never win)?

No, you're talking about 2 games where we played the eventual SECCG representatives one who was the national runner up on the road. Yeah, we laid 2 eggs last year to 2 elite teams. Again, 2018 LSU will not be elite.

Y'all lost to Troy at home. So I guess that means LSU sucks at home. You lost to us by 30 on the road. Guess you suck on the road too. 0-12 by y'alls logic.

As logical as your post is, you completely ignore the coaching change at State.

Mullen was a good coach, but he had flaws. He had taken MSU as far as he could and was getting stale.

MSU downfall has always been a lack of resources. That problem has been minimized greatly since the SECN money has been in play. MSU has risen to #1 in the country and played in the Orange Bowl post expansion. They are spending money on coaches and recruiting now. The days of MSU being an auto win for LSU are over.

MSU has taken a huge step forward over the last 4 years and LSU has taken a huge step back.

The teams are 2-2 since the new money has been distributed.

I agree that the game could be a toss up, but that doesn't answer the question of whether they can do any of that without Mullen.
