LSU's Odyssey, and its real punishment

So many crazy posts about lawsuits and kicking LSU out. Its all stupid. Its not leading anywhere. I completely agree with LSU fans that all of the court stuff is blowing over without any official punishments.
But LSU wants it cake and wants to eat it too. LSU's coach has poked at the institutions of this sport, has tried to find every advantage that is within the rules which is his right. But in doing so it has angered institutions that can determine his fate in football.
If you have seen the movie The Odyssey (you should its awesome) you will know the main point is once you start ripping at institutions you often find yourself in the fallout.
LSU has pissed off the SEC because they were pushing boundaries the SEC didn't want pushed. But now LSU is about to play a season of football where it is COUNTING on the SEC to keep institutional integrity or a very expensive bet on a new coach might not work out.
Why wouldn't the SEC tell its refs to go after the SEC? To let opposing teams hold but call them on holding? To give every questionable call to the other team? To rig all of the judgement calls SEC employees have to make dozens of times on each Saturday to never be in LSU's favor as an off the books punishment for everything that has happened?
The only thing preventing the SEC from doing this is its own integrity which LSU has directly questioned. Why should LSU be given a chance to benefit from integrity it hasn't respected off the field?
Or as the organized crime that used to run NOLA would put it: "how the frick did LSU think swinging a club around wouldn't end up with their own knees broken?"

I guess LSU will just have to beat everyone bad enough that not one referee can influence the game

And actual laws. You know people could go to jail for doing such, correct?

Do you not see that is basically begging them to prove you right?
Only when everyone involve is taking high roads do institutions like the SEC has the cultural incentive within its organization to play fair.

If its all done over the phone and never in text there is no evidence to inform a court case.
Hell make Vandy run this "frick LSU" program and even freedom of information requests won't work even if there is anything in writing.

LSU has already pushed the SEC so far everyone is reviewing what it takes to kick out a program.
Is an off the books effort to frick over LSU with ref calls really the straw that will break the camel's back?

Because there are unwritten rules in society that govern our behavior too.
And an unwritten rule that was in the SEC is they don't want any former NFL players on SEC rosters. Yall made them make that a written rule, then defend that written rule in court.
So why wouldn't they let another unwritten rule of "the refs should try to be fair" slip to the wayside?
To be clear- I an not ADVOCATING for the SEC to be corrupt with the refs. But I also can't imagine why they wouldn't.
When you tear down parts of institutions the parts remaining are not going to defend you no matter what old agreements were. That is human nature.
That is why you don't build Trojan Horses.

That is only a thing because Russia has weak institutions to prevent it.
This sort of problem is why you want strong conferences, why you want strong institutions when you are under their enforcement.
Personally I would hate to see the SEC go after LSU with the refs as punishment. I like strong institutions, I don't want to live in a Russia.
But I will be 0% surprised if by the end of the year yall aren't upset about a half dozen calls that didn't go your way that held back yall's season.

Why would the SEC care about the high ground at this point? A founding member of the SEC has already questioned its integrity. What is there left to defend?
What the SEC wants is for no program to EVER step out of line like this again. The refs fricking LSU out of the playoffs sends a clear message to the rest of the SEC:
"If you want to play dirty we will bury you in mud."

Bama wilfully recruited, played and paid a NBA player. No lawsuit, no threats of expulsion. Selective enforcement is a big issue.
