Auburn, despite going thru the worst period in our schools history, has had a better scoring defense than LSU 6 out of the last 7 years.

Soooo yeah, coming from an Auburn fan

the SEC has a large appetite for mediocre. I mean we have USC, Arky, and Mizzou. These three are identical.

AuburnTigers do you realize that our coach who was fired left LSU with only 34 players to play in a bowl game and 2 of those were hurt?

Kelly was behind the 8 ball when he got to LSU.

That kinda seems to be the premise of your OP. Y'all got nuthin' in Auburn, so you direct attention somewhere else to keep everyone from smelling the mushy dog turd over in eastern Alabama.

The whole school??? The school that currently has the reigning college baseball national champions?.... And teams that have never won a FB natty, are what? Maybe USCe should contact the Sunbelt to see if they need any bottom feeding SEC teams

oh we've got something. this year should be fun. Great defense, elite talent on offense, best OL in years, two 5 star Qbs.

If LSU had our defense, yall might be in contention for the playoffs. Unfortunately, your defense is abysmal.

LSU is way too talented on defense to be that bad.

They haven’t been the last 4-5 years though, that’s the problem. DT and DB talent was significantly lacking over that stretch but looks to have changed.

It will be. Once again we will point and laugh at Auburn.

LSU had the following defensive linemen and secondary players drafted the last 4 drafts.

Bradyn Swinson - DL, 5th round
Saivion Jones - DE, 3rd round
Maason Smith - DL, 2nd round
Mehki Wingo - DL, 6th round
Jordan Jefferson - DL, 4th round
BJ Ojujari - DE, 2nd round
Jay Ward - DB, 4th round
Jaqualin Roy - DL, 5th round
Jarrick Bernard-Converse - DB, 6th round
Derek Stingley - DB, 1st round
Cordale Flott - DB, 3rd round
Neil Farrell - DL, 4th round
Andre Anthony - DL, 7th round

That is a LOT of NFL talent on the defensive line and secondary.

This is how LSU fared relative to all other schools in total number of players drafted.

2022 - 10 players, 2nd most
2023 - 6 players, 4th most
2024 - 6 players, 11th most
2025 - 7 players, 6th most

The narrative that LSU didn’t have any talent is completely bogus.

The first game has yet to be played for anyone this season, so I reckon we'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully y'all will actually field a decent team this year. I know it's been rough for awhile over there.

Considering that Auburn's Vet-Med school saved our beloved company mascot (the boss's twelve-year-old lab') from certain demise by removing a malignant tumor a couple weeks ago, I bear no animosity toward your institution or your team this year. We're grateful for the services rendered for our overweight, aging brown dog.

Unfortunately, our two teams won't be going head-to-head this season so we won't have a chance for a straight up comparison. I'm beginning to wish for a return to a ten-team SEC (twelve teams at most) to keep the good games as an annual thing.

We could have had title recently for sure.

We pissed away Daniels with an all time bad defense.

So 4 different teams and only 1 player got drafted on day 1?

quote:

Maason Smith - DL, 2nd round

2nd round pick was purely based on potential. He was on the bench half the time he was here.

quote:

Mehki Wingo - DL, 6th round

Wingo is the best DL we've had since Kelly was hired.

8 defensive line coaches since 2020. It doesn't matter how many stars the players have, that'll frick any program.

So much NFL talent on those teams. The numbers don’t lie.

All that talent wasted. Just imagine how good they could have been if they’d just had some coaching.
