He's an Ole Miss guy, not sure where he got this information but it isn't surprising if true.

I will assume Vitello wasn't impressed with the cowboy boots Fat Man offered.

Our wop only wears Gucci boots, which would be stolen off of his feet within ten minutes on the mean streets of Red Stick.

I was kinda a 50/50 on Vitello. Was not sold on him but wasn't disappointed that LsU was interested in him. Just didn't see what needed to

But it doesn't

It does.
Parse my words all you want; the point remains.
Were the roles reversed, LSU folks would be ceaseless with their ridicule of Texas A&M.
Whether or not you acknowledge that is your affair.

No one on our end has a clue if Schlossnagle was our first choice or our fifth.
I wouldn’t take what message board trolls float, either way.
Suffice it to say, he was towards the top of the list.
My position: It wasn’t a drawn-out process from when Childress wasn’t rehired and Schlossnagle was.

Schlossnagle’s season was over pretty early. If Woodward’s top target is still playing or just got done playing, I wouldn’t call this process drawn out either. Kind of significant difference

Woodward is a shrewd guy and does not like Vitello's antics or style, he wants a more established coach

Aw shite.

Jimmy Sexton better get that contract extension worked out soon while the AD still thinks Vitello has leverage.

Only if he could not correctly identify where he got said boots at.

Announcing sure thing hires, predicting a day/time of an announcement, insulting the current team of a prospective coach, claiming your program as the nation’s top destination, releasing a coach before another hire was made, etc.

The usual trolls you see on this board when programs replace coaches.

Why did anybody ever think LSU was interested in Vit? Because of some fans on this site?

Make Schlossnagle our second choice.
Heck, make him our tenth.
My point stands.

Your point is that LSU and Aggy mercilessly troll and flame one another regardless of what actually happened?

I think you are great, btw, but I think you may be a little naive about the degree to which your fanbase is every bit of guilty of what you're laying at the feet of LSU fans.

And we didn't start this fire. I'm old enough to remember all the flaming and trolling done by Aggie fans in the infancy days of the Interwebz back in the 90s on the college football usenet group re: Joe Dean pulling out of the contract with A&M.

Let's just call it a budding rivalry and not get all carried away about which fanbase is more awful than the other.

That’s how this place works. If a rumor starts anywhere on the internet and/or someone on a message board says they want someone and it doesn’t happen, then said coach turned down a job offer. These are the rules on here

The hundreds of comments from LSU fans on Tiger rant confirming that they wanted Vitello if I had to take a stab at it.

Pure speculation on my part though

If you read the text of his press conference after the Texas loss, his choice of words was like a high schooler talking at times. We don’t need a head coach whose mouth can be a distraction.

Not that the quote isn't believable but why should we believe Richard Cross knows WTF he's talking about?
