Nick Saban would disagree with that.

Ole Miss looked like the better team. That should concern LSU fans and piss off Ole Miss fans.

Should it?

Kelly was still in rebuild, with a first year starter at QB, and not yet embracing the portal.

Kiffin had a fully mature (Ole Miss limitations notwithstanding) program of his own creation, with a multi-year starting QB and had gone all-in with portal mercs.

Didn’t matter.

Now the LSU QB has matured, they’ve paid to actually get starter-quality portal adds and Ole Miss is back to being…Ole Miss.

I like LSU’s trajectory better

Tell us about all the times Saban's team lost and he took comfort in "looking good."

If he was still in rebuild mode in year three that is a huge concern in itself.

Kelly said year three is when things should come together.

You must have missed the 25 years that Nick Saban preached ‘The Process’.

If you want to play this game, bama's football program is a lot more of a concern with all things considered...

Correct, we are on year two of a completely new coaching staff with 3/4 of the roster having 18 months or less experience in the Alabama program.

Year three is the year you show everyone what you rebuilt in years one and two.

Don’t create a narrative. He said we didn’t sniff. I said we did.

Exactly.

You were really close to being really good.

Would you rather this book title?

Has anyone else here had an article written about them in USA Today?

Message Board User Adam Banks Believes Heisman House is Real

quote:

In one of those "surely that's not real, right... right?" internet moments that briefly shakes your faith in humanity, an LSU-focused message board user named "Adam Banks" had some real concerns about the logistics of how the Heisman House functions.

You know, like a serious adult would, not like a 3-year-old who still thinks a monster lives under their rug. That'd be silly; this is serious.

His prompt: Will former LSU quarterback and Heisman winner Joe Burrow not living in the Heisman House affect LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels' chances of winning the prestigious trophy?

I’ve explained everything to you in detail. You just enjoy arguing for arguments sake.

Yes, last year was a huge rebuild year for LSU.

1 - The LSU Football program was in its worst shape when Kelly took over since 1995 when DiNardo took over. The cubbard was strikingly bare.

2 - Yes, Kelly made several key mistakes when he was first hired, which set the the rebuild back 2 years.

3 - Jayden Daniels, Malik Nabers, and BTJ’s amazing Talent in 2023 masked the weakness of the overall roster in 2023.

4 - LSU was wayyyyy behind everyone else in terms of NIL collective, Fund raising for NIL, and a General Management dept for player personnel.

5 - All of those weaknesses have been rectified over the last 18 months.

6 - For the first time in Kelly’s tenure at LSU, We finally have a roster with very few holes and weaknesses.

7 - Its now time for Kelly to put up, or shut up. This is the year. Go 10-2 and make the playoffs or bust.

It is all about the W-L record and not how good some players performed over the course of the season.

Literally the last thing Nick Saban said in that interview was “it’s not all about results”.

Nick Saban was all about giving 100% effort all the time, wringing out every ounce of potential one had, and doing the best job one could do. He said if you did that results would come, but it wasn’t just about wins and losses.

I know he wasn’t at LSU long, and it was many years ago, so you might not remember.

quote:

"Don't worry about winning, Just focus on doing your job at the highest level, every single play, and the wins will follow." - Nick Saban

There is nothing Saban hated more than celebrating a win when they didn’t play to “the standard”.
