Proved you weren't the greatest college football team of all time

The college football world needed bama to expose you. Okie State wouldn't have been up to task imo.

We beat them during the regular season...so how do you figure we were exposed after being off for 3.5 weeks?

No, they wouldn't have

LSU won the darn conference and went undefeated...they shouldn't have had to play another SEC team for goodness sake

A rematch of this kind shouldn't happen unless there were playoffs involved. Since we have no playoff, head to head is the deciding factor.

At the very least, Alabama should have had to play an extra game...not the other way around

Most agree with me, and I am good with that.

Had Oregon not lost another game after LSU and been ranked number 2 and played LSU again, would that have been OK for you because they are not in your conference, despite having already beating them in season? Curious on how this fits in to your thinking.

I believe they were 4th in the BSC....OK state would have played LSU...they had but one loss and were Big 12 champs

I would feel much better about playing an out of conference team in a rematch than a conference rematch

conference rematches should be reserved for conference title games. Agreed?

The SEC West is the toughest division in College Football....today at least

If you win that division, you should get to say, "See ya next year"

Ok state was big 12 champs but they didn't play any more games than bama. I would still reference their loss to K state as having been a much worse mark than bama's loss to a very good LSU team.

Being ok with an Oregon rematch, in which they were very much in the mix and it could have happened, isn't fair to bama. They both played LSU on the field and lost. If you are going to rule out any teams due to a head to head loss you need to rule out all of them. Conferences are run differently. The search for the 2 best teams is a national thing not a conference thing. At least at this point.

Why does everything have to be fair to Alabama

They lost their division
The lost their conference
They lost on their home field

OKST beat 3 more ranked opponents than did Alabama and won their conference

you are stoned!

LMAO, the whole basis of this is how unfair it was to LSU.

It was clear to most of the country that the two best teams played in the MNC, which is the sole purpose of the BCS.

As far as ranked opponents, Bama beat the hell out of LSU and that is enough to convince most who the better team was. Total domination > squeaking one out in overtime.

Fair or not this was ultimately decided on the field, over two games if you like. You tell me who the better team was last year.

Or just keep crying like a bitch and telling me it wasn't fair.

Their gumps. They have paintings of football games every year and put football scores on the back of their cars.

It's honestly all they have

What happens if Miles wins? His record will be 4-3 vs Saban and at that point will have more wins the 3 straight years overall and more top 5 wins.

So?

Anyone who says Oregon (had they had 1 loss) should have been in over Bama is crazy. The one and only debate was Bama or OSU. IMO it should have been OSU because of conference champion/no previous head to head. I also think that if OSU had simply been OU instead then they would have gotten in over Bama. However it wasnt and we got our arse kicked. Had there been a rubber match I think it would have been different but it is what it is. 1/9 yall were the decidedly better team. Still though, no one expected that type of season out of LSU going in. Especially with that schedule. We were supposed to be a year away. With the leadership coming back I dont see that game breaking this team, in fact I see the opposite occuring.

Les Miles, the AP, Coaches, and Harris Polls say hi. Hate to break it to you, but LSU fans and an old guy from Lowes don't constitute all college football fans in the country.

Pretty much the thought process of most college football fans around the country

That's a fact

After Jan. 9th, the thought process of most college football fans around the country was that one team didn't belong in that game, and it wasn't Bama.

That's a fact.

We've owned you all time so you're still our bitch?

I like how some LSU fans use the excuse that if you take away Bear's wins it is much loser, because you can't just take away the years Bryant was there.

You said that Saban will "show that hes decidedly the better coach on Nov. 3rd". I think everyone in this thread can agree that whoever wins on the 3rd will be headed towards an SEC championship and probably a NC berth. Well if Miles wins (which we will be favored) then that will point towards 2 west championships, 2 SEC championships, 2 NC appearances to Saban having 0, 0, and 1 in 3 years. In addition head to head and overall record will be in Miles' favor. Thats pretty stark evidence. It took a large amount of backing in for Bama to get a shot to tie up a head to head record last year. Still waiting on our home game.
