On I think the 3rd play where McCarron threw the 15-20 yard sideline route Collins was literally 10 yards down the field when the receiver caught the ball. That was the play when Danielson made the comment about LSU playing a very soft coverage.

That's because the man playing on Norwood blitzed. Norwood was in the slot on that play. The blitz allowed him to stay open

We called the perfect play for that blitz

It was the perfect play call. I can't say what would have happened had it not been a screen, but we were bringing pressure, and a sack there would have been huge. Would have put bama out of FG range, took a lot of time off the clock, and put AJ under a ton of pressure. Everybody talks about the questionable play calls by Miles, but this one may have been the biggest play call of the game.

LSU was giving the Bama WRs a 10 yard cushion.
They did on one play.. The rest of the plays they were up near the LOS..

5th play: LSU is panicking and calls an all out blitz....YELDON TD

The play could have and probably should have been held to a short gain. Bennie Logan recognized the screen before the snap, alerting Minter who began to cheat over to the strong side. On that play, the CB is taught to read the keys off of the MLB. The freshman corner read the play incorrectly and in fact joined in on the blitz which he was not supposed to do. His being out of position did not give Minter and Loston enough time to cover the distance between themselves and the outstanding Yeldon. Yeldon made a great play but the defense, if properly executed, could have tackeld him in the field of play. Jalen will be a great one before he leaves LSU and he played a strong game. That play will bother him until they play 'Bama again, however.

I just watched the replay once last night, but I know we brought Michah Eugene on the first 2 plays, but we had DBs on all other WRs. Its not like we were blitzing a guy leaving an assignment wide open.

Doesn't matter they weren't in the same defense as they were the whole time, which they should have been, AJ was rattled and not doing shite.

False, at times we had 1 DB close up but the rest were way back. Bama was in 3+ WR sets meaning a few guys were wide open the first 5-8 yards.

Bama moved the ball by throwing very short passes (to the sidelines) down the field and worked the clock. LSU SHOULD have played prevent eight man drop on at least several of those completions because the extra men on the field make the qb throw over someones head and the risk is high for picks.
Bama showed good clock management...Miles doesnt for some reason. Metty should be well rehearsed on last minute drill and all wrs/rbs need to know what to do when there are no timeouts. If you dont throw the ball ten yds...that receiver better have open field in front of him to get a first down to stop the clock. LSU was in a bad situation though down by 4 pts and needing a TD, it was going to be a miracle to pull it off. The thing you wanna do is get to at least the midfield or slightly beyond and have time for a hail mary.

after watching the replay last night, the second pass to hill where he tried to get out of bounds, was a bad mistake. He was 1 yard from the first and instead of just getting the first for the clock to stop ran straight to the sideline. Probably cost Mett 2 plays, but I just couldn't see us getting the win at that point anyway.

They were 10-15 yards off the reliever every play except the GW TD. We blitzed right into the screen.

There was one play where every single Bama WR had a LSU defender lined up 3 yards in front of him playing man. Not aggressive man, but they were in man.

Also, Mettenberger got the ball back with just as much time as it took Bama to move 5 plays and get a TD....but he choked under the pressure...McCarron thrived under the pressure
