It's almost as if a rebuilding program in year one will win some games it shouldn't and lose a game or two it shouldn't. It's like the coach has to change the culture to teach the players how to handle success. I mean, it's almost like that.

You’ve been on here since day break begging for someone to validate your feelings.

Lady, it’s time for you to take a step away from College Football for awhile.

You guys can say and call me what you want, but that game last night really changed my opinion on this.

Judging a team/coach/program/player based on one game is incredibly short sighted.

7 and 5 isn’t much better. Every time BK gets close to the CFP he chokes. Long history of that at ND.

It’s not rocket science, you moron. Going from 6-6 and last in the west to 9-3 and first in the west in one season is improvement.

If things existed in a vacuum the way you pretend it does, then it would be closer to rocket science which can at times operate in a vacuum.

But you are right, it's not rocket science and there is no vacuum. There are other factors that need to be taken in besides record.

First there is what you could reasonably expect any coach to achieve at LSU. Which I think is safe to say is well above 6-7. So isn't there some improvement that should have been expected by default?

Then you have to look at their actual games. What was the big difference in expectations vs reality? It all basically revolves around the Alabama win. Which would be awesome, if not for the fact that Alabama is obviously not what Alabama has been over the years. So is that really a case of LSU has improved so much, or is more a sign of how much Alabama was down this year?

Well, to answer that question - look at their other games. They just got blown out by A&M, blown out by Tennessee etc. Most of their wins, even against lower SEC competition were still close games. Wins no doubt, but when you look at actual team strength it's not just about the win/loss column.

If they win that game last night, my opinion is a bit different. It was a bit different yesterday. New information came, it was a blowout loss. My opinion changed. It all just shows how fricking bad the coordinators at Alabama really are, because this LSU team is not THAT improved.

Next you have the context of the OP. Those goal posts you keep moving. From someone pretending it was a huge accomplishment, to now just "any improvement". Quite dishonest, but I'm use to it. Because apparently, only morons are able to see more than binary options in a discussion. Or, maybe it's just that the only way you can even begin to address what I actually say is to first change it to some extreme so you can strawman that the frick up?

LSU definitely played a bad game last night, probably their second or third worst game of the year.

Conversely, A&M played far and away their best game of the year.

Either way, I will take 9-3 over 6-6 any day.

Oh, so we can also ignore the LSU vs Alabama game then right? That's not a true reflection of Alabama this year...even though it 100% showed exactly what the problem with Alabama was this year. We just didn't play well, and LSU played as good as can be.

Come on, that's just excuses. And it's not just 1 game.

I just think your double standards are funny.

I am happy with the job Coach Kelly has done and is doing, he seems to be rebuilding the program in a positive manner and that's all I can ask for.

Cool, Alabama is awesome this year because the LSU game shouldn't be used to judge them.

Silly excuses. The game happened, period. Deal with it.

Do you think I would be posting in this thread at all if that was all the OP said?

I have no problem with that. Better than Coach O for sure.

I just no longer think LSU is as improved as previously thought, nor do I think saying "SEC West Champs" means anything. Beat Georgia, that will be impressive.

It’s year 1, with tons of transfers, brand new coaching staff, and coming off of 2 abysmal seasons, and playing in the SECCG. Good gracious. I’ll take it all day, and super excited for the future under this coaching staff, and I’m a pretty big realist, but there’s lots to be excited over without going off the deep end on one end or the other. And believe me, if there’s one thing people do on this board, it’s go over the deep end over things to the positive or the negative. It’s much like our politics. Radicals everywhere.

not a SEC West trophy(that doesn't exist)

It does exist, in every sport that has division champs actually. The SEC does, in fact, give trophies for division titles

All Bama fans are rooting for LSU. Quit clutching your purse.

UgA is in either way, and none of us want to go to the Sugar Bowl. Although, I'm 6 miles door to door from Hard Rock Stadium, so I am bias. The thought of Clemson Orange and Pumpkin Puke orange playing in the Orange Bowl makes me vomit in my mouth at the color combos.

You may very well end up with 5 losses after Atlanta and your bowl game. I Feel like Orgeron averaged 5 losses a year. Just saying
