If Mississippi State was like Arkansas and Ole Miss, they would have claimed the 1941 National Title. Instead, they chose to go fight in the war and let those pussies from Alabama claim it, even though they finished third in the SEC that year.

Arkansas is a non factor on the playing fields and courts of the SEC. An afterthought if you will.

The Helms Athletic Foundation didn't even exist until the 40s. They (like maybe 5 or 6 people) decided to retroactively name national champs for seasons before the NCAA tournament started. UNC and Kansas embarrassingly claim theirs; UK doesn't.
As for LSU's 1935 claim...all you need to know is LSU fans won't even put it on Wikipedia. I've seen LSU posters here say it's the same as a BCS or CFP title in football.

LSU retroactively claims a national championship for the 1934–35 season, but not on the basis of any determination by an external selector or outcome of any contest purporting to determine a national champion.

LOL!!!! The NCAA actually credits Arkansas for the 1977 FB Title!!!!! Show me a link from somewhere...anywhere..where the NCAA legitimizes the 1935 BB title that LSU claims!!!
