only a more dominant beatdown

it ended Tommy Bowden’s career and announced that Saban at the Capstone was a force with which to be reckoned in the SEC

poetic justice that Dabo’s HC career began and ended* with Clemson getting bent over on national TV

*they probably wont fire him immediately like they did Bowden because it’ll cost them way too much, but Dabo’s a dead man walking going forward

During warmup you could see a size disparity between the 2 schools players. They had some tiny players. Its not gonna work with how the game is played now.

Yep the players talent discrepancy was obvious. Unless your school can or is willing to pay the 40 mill price tag that Texas, Ohio State, Oregon, LSU did the best you can realistically expect for your program is playoff appearances. But you’re not winning a national title.

One significant difference is that 2008 clemson actually had some legit offensive talent. CJ Spiller, James Davis, Aaron Kelly...

2026 Clemson looks totally depleted in terms of talent.

Bowden was not fired but tendered his resignation.

Another significant difference is LSU had 200+ more offensive yards than Bama, gave up fewer yards Bama, and won by 41 and not 24
