Doubtful.

Only one of the two schools considers Thanksgiving and football to be synonymous.
It’s a cultural thing that I don’t see changing (that’s not a good or bad thing, it’s just the way it is).
I won’t, however, be surprised to see the Ags resume playing football on TG again in several years, but the opponent won’t be LSU.

LSU needs to find a game for rivalry weekend and stop with the Bama rivalry nonsense. Get a game that is big on both sides. We have auburn, uf has fsu. UGA has tech. Arkie could have developed into a great rivalry week matchup but LSU constantly thumbed its nose at it. Not sure why because those were great games.

Get u a game, do some trash talking, make it the biggest game on your schedule. If not, LSU will continue to be a non factor on that weekend which is the biggest weekend of recruiting season. Thanksgiving night would be an awesome time to play a&m. The whole country would watch and turn it into a "traditional" thing. Have thanksgiving dinner, go to an 8pm game or watch with entire family. The rest of us would watch as well. This could be a great event for sec football.

If not, a&m is gonna bring Texas back that day and LSU is playing north Texas on espn3 on Saturday with zero recruits paying attention. Schools are making efforts to bring back traditional games that they thought they didn't need. A&m and LSU have history. Embrace that, hell, give it a name. Battle of I10, get an oil well as a trophy, whatever and stop trying to replace the iron bowl which is never gonna move and is huge for the networks. A&m is probably the closest sec school and alumni bases from both are very prevalent in Houston and Louisiana. It could be huge. LSU doesn't have an instate team to play so they need to find a dance partner that doesn't have one.

If A&M and tu ever renew, it will coincide with a renewal of Missouri and KU. This would put LSU and Arkansas back on rivalry week. The SEC set up the schedule perfectly for this.

However, don’t get too excited. A&M and tu will not be playing in football for the foreseeable future, despite any rumors that are out there.

Sorry Tony, Alabama's application to play LSU on Thanksgiving is denied.

Thank you for your interest in our program.

Usually a big rival needs to win a few games. So it can't be A&M.

LSU should play Tulane in the Superdome every other year for rivalry week. The in-between years could be a rotation of other Louisiana schools, La Tech and such, in a game played in Tiger Stadium.

This plan would also allow LSU to rest up some starters for the SEC championship game, should they be in it.

Never. Thursday only made sense for the Aggies and tsips because they were 90 miles apart. Eat Thanksgiving lunch with your family, get in the car and head to the game. It worked nicely and was a great day!

That formula does not work for LSU or the Aggies being 350 miles apart. Attendance the last couple years proved that. Move on.

One of the few things our athletic director has done right was to say LSU will not play Thanksgiving night in Tiger Stadium. ESPN got tired of having to scramble for a game every other Thanksgiving so they moved the Egg Bowl to Thanksgiving, starting last year.

The LSU-A&M game in College Station is on a Saturday this year. And it will be on a Saturday in the years it's supposed to be in Baton Rouge. Let the expansion teams play on Friday, and if A&M is hellbent on playing Thanksgiving night, let them play Texas and/or go back to the Big 12. The SEC was a much better place when there were only 10 teams, anyway.

College football is meant to be played on Saturdays during the regular season. Let the Conference USAs, AACs, MACs, Texas A&Ms, Arkansases and Missouris of the world play on Fridays. I'm still pissed LSU-Miami is on Sunday on Labor Day weekend.
