Everyone is else is taking advantage of the chaos that we have in college sports now, so I’m good with Alabama taking advantage of it here.

He played two years at Bama after the IMG Academy, sooo…. According to CFB standards and 90% of Indianas 25 year olds, that means he has about 6 years left to play ball.

No, just looking at it practically. Courts have been giving a green light to this sort of stuff already, so if the same can happen in this case then Alabama should take advantage of it. If Alabama doesn’t, someone else will.

Eh.. I think it's a slightly different situation... he was drafted number 31 by the Pistons in 2023. Then traded to the Hornets and then the Knicks. And now he's a Baylor Bear.

I actually think Bediako has a good argument.

First, I'll say the whole premise of being able to turn pro, then play college ball, is absurd.

But, I don't see the difference between allowing a guy to return to college ball after playing overseas or in the G League, and allowing a guy to return to college ball after playing in the NBA.

If you played pro ball internationally, how is that any different from playing pro ball domestically?

Neat. One of your current players was getting paid to play basketball on a professional contract this time last year.

Neat. International athletes transitioning to American Universities is common. Your women's tennis team is probably full of them.

Allowing players to return to play in college after the NBA is absurd. Did you even think before you made this post?

I realize that international professional athletes transitioning to NCAA institutions is common. Hence this lawsuit from Canadian professional athlete Charles Bediako. Thanks for your support.

Of course I did.

But explain to me why it is OK for a player to play professionally in the EuroLeague and return to college, but not to play professionally in the NBA and return to college?

Bediako played college ball. And chose to enter the draft. Huge difference.

Actions have consequences.

It's just apples and oranges. If anything you can convince me better that EuroLeague players should also be banned before you can convince me that former NBA players should go back to playing in college just so they can get a bigger check.

All these kids born after 2000 have grown up being coddled and told they're the best all the time at everything and grew up with a screen in their face from birth and are used to instant gratification all the time nonstop. Then when they hit the tiniest bit of adversity, instead of accepting their reality adn moving on with life their answer is to look anywhere else for fault or, in this case, sue somebody.

20 years from now we might as well not even have college athletics anymore the way things are going.

How is it apples and oranges? Either you can play professionally and return to college ball or you can't. The particular professional league you play in should be irrelevant to the decision.

As to the banning of the EuroLeague players, I completely agree with you. I don't think anyone who played in any pro league should be able to return to college. But the shitty NCAA is already allowing that to happen.
