How serious are y'all about having to play Florida every year? Would y'all leave if you didn't get your way?
Yeah man, since LSU fans=the LSU program

I believe that a major underlying reason *besides* the scheduling issue* why Miles and a ton of us LSU fans would consider leaving the SEC, is that it seems that LSU's role in the conference is not appreciated.
For instance, last year we were a hair's breath from winning the West division (ergo, the SEC, ergo, the National Title), yet the SEC purposely lobbied/arranged for two teams that LSU beat (TAMU and USC) to go to higher, faster and louder bowl games...
The LSU support base became very disillusioned and the team unmotivated, to go to Chick-Fil-A, and sure enough, there was very low fan support at that bowl. We took a revenue hit, a loss in a low-motivation game (Alabama remembers the Utah game, right?), and worst of all, were not in our prime out-of-state recruiting areas of Texas and Florida (Cotton Bowl and Outback bowl, respectively).
That, coupled with the "temporary scheduling" to accomodate TAMU and Missouri coming into the conference, of adding Georgia to LSU's already-tough schedule, and Vandy to Alabama's already-weak schedule... Well, I hope at least that perhaps some of y'all fans from other SEC schools can begin to understand why we could possibly be pissed.

False. A&M was going to the Cap One. No bowl was going to pass on A&M. Hell, the Sugar would've taken us if they weren't obligated to take UF.
Slive placed UGA in the Cap One and that bumped A&M down to the Cotton and LSU from Cotton to Peach.
Where you should be mad is that Slive didn't protect LSU when they lost the SECCG and let them fall down the bowl ladder

But don't worry, the SEC wants A&M to be successful. For that reason we have clout with the league and we have LSUs back in votes
This is how a rivalry should work. It's nice to have an equal partner

Which has happened before anyway. LSU played Miami in the Chicken Bowl half a dozen years ago because they slid way further than they should have after losing the SEC CCG... it turned out to be an interesting opponent that year anyway. This year's LSU attendance in the Chicken Bowl was pretty disappointing with the bowl not being novel, LSU one year removed from a NCG, and more fans wanting to do something like the Cotton Bowl.
But A&M vs a Big 12 opponent made sense in teh Cotton Bowl for a lot of reasons (esp with LSU's starting out next year in Jerryworld against TCU). LSU fans are kinda meh on the Capital One bowl after the disaster that was that field the last time they went anyway.
Pretty much LSU fans would not have been happy with the Capital One, A&M was a better fit for the Cotton Bowl, and LSU didn't earn a spot in the Sugar Bowl. I guess something like the Outback Bowl would have been an interesting option but that didn't happen for whatever reason.

Tell that to JJ and Jarrett Lee.

LSU should keep up the pressure by continuing to expose the unfairness of the SEC's permanent opponent rule.
Truth will win out in the end.

You must be one of those new Bama bandwagon fans.

That is an immature approach. Exposing the truth as we are beginning to see is the best practice
I am sure the gumps would love for LSU, Florida and now A and M to leave the conference

Well, for instance, we know that when TAMU and Missouri were added, the "temporary schedule change" added Georgia to LSU's already tough SEC sched and Vandy to Alabama's already easy SEC sched. Although we may not know that it will always be a cakewalk, certainly the Birmingham-based SEC schedulers knew in this instance that they were making it tougher for LSU and easier for Alabama. Knew damn well.
And that is the huge elephant in the room, regarding the scheduling issue.

With Herb Vincent going to the SEC front office it will work it self out
Posted on 5/24/13 at 8:02 pm to LSUNV
Herb Vincent got hired as assistant Commissioner *because* of LSU's complaints over the continual Bama Bias.
Posted on 5/24/13 at 8:17 pm to BYULSUalum
GO TO HELL SEC, GO TO HELL SEC will probably replace LSU's chant of pride for the SEC if LSU's complaints on this matter are totally ignored.

How could anyone ignore the constant complaining?
Posted on 5/24/13 at 8:57 pm to nc14
By pretending everything is fair and nothing has to be changed to satisfy LSU's complaints.

The SEC would be boring as hell without LSU.
