It isn't at all uncommon for there to be a bunch of poor bastards and a few incredibly wealthy ones in an area. Keeping others poor is a foundational element of an awful lot of wealth around the world.....

LSU has a multi-billionaire tech guy in silicon valley whose parents were professors at LSU and he grew up going to the games. He is die hard.
