That would seem to be excessively strict.

University of Alabama football player Julian Rashad Johnson was arrested at 2:55 a.m. this morning (2/23/08) outside a Tuscaloosa bar. TPD officers were on patrol in the area of the Legacy Bar when they observed a disturbance inside the bar. The bar was closing and Legacy security personnel were escorting an un-named subject from the bar. Another man, later identified as Johnson, attempted to intervene and pushed one of the security officers who fell out of the front doorway and onto the ground. TPD officers then moved in and took Johnson into custody after a brief struggle. A large crowd had gathered during the incident and additional officers with TPD and UA responded to assist with crowd control. Johnson was not injured.

ETA: I guess Rashad wasnt suspended. I thought he had been.

I don't know the VaTech story, so I can't comment on that.

I've just gotten to the point with the idiots in Baton Rouge that I'm tired of douchebags going out and talking shite to our football players because they know the football players have a lot more to lose than them and they can usually get away with it.

If it were only the bar fight thing, I'd give Hill a fricking medal and tell him good job.

Because if its before the season than Les can make a determination on his actual punishment. I dont see him lifting the indefinite suspension until the courts have done their thing.

Townies arresting players? Uh no

That is the staff & universities fault though (and admittedly might have been around a lot longer than before Les' tenure in BR)

There seems to be a communication issue with LSU and the local police force

It is a commonly known thing that a lot of the guys who can't seem to stay out of the doghouse or stay in shite all the time in Ttown are forced by Saban to complete a program with the local force where they do ride-alongs etc and there is a communication level there, this doesn't seem to be the case in BR

These kids come from all situations and walks of life, some are straight outta certain ghettos and for others it is their 1st time away from home so to me they deserve a little lead way until they are a serious threat to the community

Was Hill a threat? Or was it a stupid taunted I don't know the story though there is only speculation

I know the group @ Bama who stole the cards was a threat and were promptly released

Your Baton Rouge folk have got some ballz to pick a fight, and antagonize a football player.

I'm too damn chickenshit to even mouth off at a big fella that could kick my arse into next week. I damn sure wouldn't try to find the guy later in the night and continue on with the shite.

The city of Tuscaloosa decided that what he did wasn't battery, it was just disorderly conduct. I wasn't there when the decision was made.
