Yeah as we all know, great coaches never make mistakes, which is why Brian Polian and Bill O'Brien are still at their respective jobs, right? Oh...

Well, shite, that's a shame.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Better players and better recruits at LSU.

South Carolina is a much lower tier school.

Did LSU have 2 5* and 2 4* starting on their line last year? We did and finished #117 in rush defense.

Matrix Analytical, who runs a ranking on college staffs, seems to think that we improved our staff with Travion Robertson. LSU not so much.

Seriouis question...Not having seen any USC games could it be the defensive coordinators scheme he's running with the personel he has?

LSU was getting gashed in the run game because CEO was adamant in running a 4-3 when we didn't have the personal to run it...as soon as he stopped interferring and allowed Daronte Jones to run the defense he wanted with the personel we had, LSU suddenly was able to stop the run...

I don't think so. Clayton White has been really good for us overall. If a school took him we would be upset about that. The DL and LB's to an extent have been weak spots for us. The hard part is we recruited far better at DL than we did at LB. We feel like we are recruiting and have signed some better LB's but DL has to be better for us going forward.

deflecting to make it anything but a DL coaching issue. None of us are saying he won't do well at LSU, but we are saying it didnt work well here.

Good for you. LSU scheme is better. SC is middle school and garbage.

LSU will be better. South Carolina falls further behind.

I'm with you, 9/10 coaches on this staff have really good resumes and some good recruiting wins. 90% is a really good percentage, its higher than Saban had last year (or this year, to be honest). Its just a shame that they wiffed this one and settled for mediocrity.

So you paid $1.8 million to hire a coach
to coach a scheme that he hasn't coached before because you think he will be more successful than he was when he coached his own scheme.

Sure. And if it doesn't work we'll spend at least that much to replace him.

We rich, bitch.

Except linemen do not play every down.

Depth matters, the difference at LSU, UGA and Bama is that second and third string players have similar star ratings as starters.

Also, is USC loaded with difference makers and depth at other defensive positions?

This is why posters are saying there is more to work with at LSU.

That said, he's a line coach and recruiter not the defensive coordinator. The success/failure of the defense will fall on how the DC implements his game plan utilizes his players.

You read the LSU board? Earlier you posted that you only knew about the LSU assistant, because he was hired from SC. Like I wrote, you have a strange obsession with a non-rival school.
