How does Sagarin work into the total rankings?

Auburn is ahead of SC & Arky. These rankings are useless.

the BCS uses the ELO from here - that is the ranking that matters

Computer rankings look silly early in the season until there is a large enough sample size for their formulas to make sense. Wait until about week 8 or so before you start concerning yourself with the computers.
For example with Sagarin:
For example with Sagarin:
quote:
For the first few weeks of the season, the starting ratings have weight
in the process(BAYESIAN), but once the teams are all WELL CONNECTED, then
the starting ratings are no longer used and all teams are started equal
and the RATING, ELO-CHESS, and PURE POINTS (PREDICTOR) are then done in an UNBIASED manner from that point on.

tell that to the original poster. I'm well aware. That's why i said LSU is #1, not Bama.

Im aware of that as well. Tell that to the people upset that Auburn is ranked above USC.
Posted on 9/6/11 at 8:29 am to WDE24
Sure, they're meaningless. But, still.

With the win over a #3 Oregon team, you would think that would shoot LSU to #1 considernig Alabama only has a win over little Kent State, nt to mention the play agianst them. How many ints did they throw? 3?
