Welcome to the SEC.
I'm looking forward to evening up the series record with "blue blood" Texas next season in Tiger Stadium.
Texas isnt blue blood. The last time they were relevant they brought a QB that was made out of glass to the game.
Made that arse quit.

He's not wrong though. They got a 64% winning percentage all-time. They're 59 wins behind Tennessee and only 9 wins ahead of Clemson all-time, for God's sake. A great program, nonetheless

i stopped reading here.
I’m not sure how old you are or what fantasy-land definition of “blue blood” you’re using, but here’s the reality: LSU has been a top-five program for basically the entire lifespan of most people on this board .... and for the vast majority of that timeframe, LSU has accomplished more than Texas.
now, please continue.
I mean this in the most sincere and charitable way (not sarcasm) when I say, that is awesome and I agree and good for you guys! Seriously, Huzzah for the Tigers of the Bayou or whatever you guys say.
But still not a blue blood.
It's a tired, out-dated moniker anyways. You wouldn't even want it. What you guys got going on today is better.
So for the love of God, stop melting on not being included in a group definition that was created 75 years ago!

And let me guess, Texas is. What have you guys won lately? This is a troll post. LK reached the ceiling at OM, which is an expectation at LSU. BR is not the greatest city on earth, but let's be honest, Austin is not what it once was. It is Califonia East now.

no one is melting, i'm just pointing out how stupid your post is.
take that however you want.

the prestige and brand between Ole Miss and LSU, where one is having the best season of its lifetime
I hate to stand up for Ole Miss here, but there's a serious misperception.
Johnny-come-lately teams like Texas and Alabama, who didn't start winning titles until the 1960s, probably have no idea of the history of Ole Miss. From 1950 to 1970 Ole Miss had the highest winning percent in the country. Not Texas, not Oklahoma, not Tennessee. That's a 20 year span. Few teams can say that. LSU played them every year during that span, 15 games in Tiger Stadium (the second largest stadium in the South at the time, behind Tulane Stadium). LSU didn't fare very well against Johnny Vaught, but that's the context of Billy Cannon's Halloween Run. It was BIG at the time.
I would argue that these years were the greatest for Ole Miss, not this year:
1962: 10 - 0
1961: 9 - 2
1960: 10 - 0 - 1
1959: 10 - 1
1958: 9 - 2
1957: 9 - 1 - 1
1956: 7 - 3
1955: 10 - 1

Neither is Alabama, sorry. The real blue bloods are Harvard, Princeton and Yale - and always will be.

This is getting close. A couple of call outs though:
1) Stop equating and/or equivalizing by deflecting back on the University of Texas at Austin. It's giving "shooting the messenger" when you all should just be synthesizing the message: LSU is not a Blue Blood*
2) LK has confirmed beyond all shadow of doubt that OM is not and likely never will be a top tier program. For a while it looked like it could be the Texas Tech of the SEC in that you'd see an evolutionary leap from water to land with unprecedented success in this new era, but it now looks like that was never a reality.
A great tier 2 school in a tier 3 or 4 market with limited upside in alumni power and influence and a strong regional brand with little national prestige.
3) Old Austin has died many deaths, depending on who you ask, but in every single incarnation living in your desired area of Austin is a better life than the third world city of Baton Rouge. Baton Rouge and Port Au Prince, Haiti have more in common than Baton Rouge and any other city in the SEC.
*See previous post about the irrelevance of being a Blue Blood and why LSU should stop melting about not being one.

I know this is a troll post but Alabama won the Rose Bowl 4 times before 1950. LSU/Ole Miss have never even sniffed it. You need to read a book. Alabama has been and will always be the greatest southern football program of all time

What does “blue blood” even mean? Is Texas a “blue blood?” How long does it take for you to lose that made up status without winning some kind of championship?

When "has beens" who haven't won shite in twenty fkn years want to feel relevant again they dust off the old "blue blood" encyclopedia. No one gives AF about nattys in the 50s and 60s that were decided BEFORE THE BOWL GAMES. In the flat-screen TV era LSU is a waaaaaay better football program the UTranny TX Taco Meat...

In the last 25 years, only Bama has more Natty's. Deal with it.

A lot of those metrics are very close, regardless of if UT's is highlighted.

Oh, blah, blah, blah, and LSU won the championship in 1908. w/e.
I'm talking about real championships.

in 1960 Tennessee had a better all-time win% than Alabama.
When the SEC formed in 1933, Vanderbilt, Texas and Texas A&M all had better all-time winning percentages than Alabama.
