A lot of great posts earlier in the season acting like such an esteemed program would fall victim to this curse

We are SEC baseball.

Another bama fan that always talks about how bad a team is.... yet they haven't really done anything.

Let's just see which team makes it further in this post season.

LSU will. I literally used the fact that you lost 2-3 to us to show how bad your team played all year until the last 2 weeks, which clearly wasn’t indicating Bama is a good team. We lost the next series to a horrible AU team, so it’s pretty clear your team sucked for most of the year and the curse still applied. It just wasn’t enough to take LSU baseball all the way out of the postseason, which shows how strong your program is.

And the poster that compared it to our football team might want to check the records and the winning %s again. Did LSU baseball win the SEC? Did LSU baseball make the F4 and lose in extra innings to the champ? I would say it was more like our basketball team getting hot to make the F4, but our basketball team was never on the ropes of making the postseason tourney and was still a top 16 team at seeding.

You lost 2 of 3 in Ttown due to game ending error, and were likely about to be left out. Congrats for getting hot in the Tourney, but let’s not act like LSU wasn’t on the mat for an 8 count before stumbling to their feet and finding something even remotely respectable by LSU baseball standards

I mean, people are getting bitchy about this, but it's a true statement; we thought we had to win the Bama series and we blew it on a horrible throw. We were in the last 4/next 4 out list at that point, hoping we could sneak into the regionals on program reputation. And the general consensus on that was "maybe, but we'd have to be the 11th team in, and that might not happen". We were behind Fla, Alabama, SC, and Vandy in most predictions.

It took a late flurry for us to get back to respectable.

I think it does say something about the respect the SEC gets, that 4 teams that finished 13-17 in the conference got 2 seeds.

UT is the number one seed, by the way.

A “last 4 in” has won the CWS more recently than the 1 seed.

Based on what we lost, this season is already a success. I hope we can get some lagniappe at this point.
